My husband went to see his primary care doctor this morning, She asked why he has dark circles under his eyes, I don't sleep good lately. This woman told him that he isn't sleeping because he's worried that he is going to die. And that he needs to exercise. The way you are feeling is all in your head, and she has seen worse in people with Hep C and that he is a healthy man. Meanwhile the liver doctor has prescribed Xifanax, for his sleep patterns being off, his mild confusion, forgetfulness! So my husband comes home Angry and decides that since his doctor says "it's all in his head" he is now drinking after being sober for 7 months and going for evaluation next month and supposed to start Hep C treatment. He was diagnosed with cirrhosis in May of this year. i am so angry with her but i am also angry with him that he would let something like this ruin the last 7 months of sobriety. He says he's done going to the docs and he's not having treatments. I JUST WANT TO SCREAM!!!

His liver doctor put him on Xifaxan for the "symptoms in his head" They wanted 100.00 with my insurance! I went online and received a card good for 1 year for 100.00 off each time it needs to be refilled. Thank God. He started taking that and hopefully has put away the alcohol for good this time. Thank you all.

Dreamkite3, I agree with you, now that I think about it I had some concerns a few days before this happened and this was his excuse instead of "just drinking" because he felt like it. I guess in his mind that was a good reason.

I completely understand your frustration and your husband's frustration. I went for some cognitive testing with a shrink for a disability claim and he basically said the same thing: Doctors should not take my declarations of symptoms seriously since most of them are "psychosomatic". It's hard to ignore idiots; some people buy into it. I just reported him to the APA and sent him a letter informing him that he was a dunce of the highest order. Luckily I had my husband to support me. Your husband is lucky; hopefully he'll figure that out before it's too late. I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...
