No that is quite normal. You are showing signs of being on the HCV drugs. what week are you in?

I start week 12 today...one more week of incivek...yay! I know the meds make it worse... But i was kinda irritable before tx too....definetly not this bad though. No depression...just anti social and moody

My mental condition is directly tied to my physical condition. When I start getting down I go back on antidepressants.

I will sit here and type all day, but if the phone rings I don't want to answer it. Go figure.

It's not just you, but it is something to talk to your doctor about. Treatment is bad enough without all of the mental problems that it creates.

I've become kind of anti-social since tx. Never was before except when I did tx 2 yrs ago. I can't stand to be around groups especially. People just get on my nerves more now. It's def the meds, but remember, "this too shall pass". Hang in there Rn.

I didn't mean to imply that you were depressed. I was talking about my own mental state.
Sometimes it is hard to pinpoint the source of a particular mood. I was a bitch at work today. I just felt bad and took it out on some people.
I have noticed that friends are calling me because I have quit calling them.

I went and slept in the guest room at our house for a while there, my wife stayed in the master. Its amazing we are still both under the same roof.

My hubby has Hep and never done treatment....and he goes to the store about 2am (he has insomnia).......cause he also hates crowds (people)...........I don't know if its the hep........or just him:)

Being social is an effort while on treatment. I cry very easily and feel, well, just weird. I never was a social butterfly but I do like people. Well, some people anyway. At week 21, I am anxious to get back with people but it will take some effort. I know all of the isolation can't be good. Just me, myself and I is enough to make me crazy! The drugs do put us on edge so I am sure they make us more irritable, tense, anxious, etc. Aren't we having fun!

RN, I often wonder the same thing. It seemed I was becoming more anti-social and irritable a couple years before I was diagnosed. I had the virus for 40 some years. My husband, at the time, was not being very nice to me so It might have been that and/or the HCV. I was asymptomatic. The last couple months of tx I didn't want to see anyone or go anywhere. Just too exhausting. Now 6 weeks post tx, I find I enjoy talking to people again. Beautiful spring days help a lot too.

I'm hoping that if I get SVR I'll become a whole new person. HA!

I was always a very out spoken person before tx. Feeling crappy all the time I need my space most of the time.

I've had the virus since the late 70's and had always been outgoing. then I did tx last year (Oct 2010~April 2011) I know that I became very anti social during tx. Sorry to say, it hasn't changed much since E.O.T. Worst part is that I work retail sales. When I HAVE to I MAKE myself social but if it is an option then I'm just as happy being by myself and not answering the phone. Couldn't tell you if it was the tx or just the progression of this disease but I didn't clear the virus so I'm figuring I will never know.
Probably didn't help you much with this answer but I will say that I WAS outgoing before tx.

These days I dream of being locked in my bed room with a remote and someone to bring me food and do my laundry. Like living in a hotel. Then I hear my kids and my wife and realize not only do I have to get out of bed and face these people that are driving me nuts...but they have to deal with me. It helps me realize that I have to make an effort every day to be more patient and considerate of others.

LOL - yes, tx is bad - still insomnia sucks - after still tx sucks. (cotton mouth???) I can go on.....

YOUR Not alone. I'm 2x tx - I've lost friends and gained. Old friends hang in there.

Just the sheer fact of living with a chronic illness has cause me emotional stress on its own. I got really depressed and anxious when I was initially diagnosed. I didn't clear after 1st tx in 2009 and got MORE depressed, frustrated, angry, anxious...the full spectrum of raw emotion! And riba rage? Oh yeah, it's real...

Just the sheer fact of living with a chronic illness has cause me emotional stress on its own. I got really depressed and anxious when I was initially diagnosed. I didn't clear after 1st tx in 2009 and got MORE depressed, frustrated, angry, anxious...the full spectrum of raw emotion! And riba rage? Oh yeah, it's real...
