I love challah French toast also. I've had it many times much like Henry posted. It is amazing. I worked in the kosher-style Jewish deli for almost 2 years in college so I got to try most Jewish food. Well, I love a lot of it but did not try schav and I could not eat gefilte fish.

Anything challah or in a knish or a blintz. Yummy. I loved kreplach soup also. Someone was referencing the bread thread the other day. They meant this one. Lol.

Is it. Honestly it was the smell that I, well all the workers, could not get past. Does it always come in a jar or do they really swim in the ocean? Haha. It's Pike fish if I recall? I liked stuffed kishka, cabbage rolls, and could make a mean malt and egg cream. We had 102 sandwiches on 2 of 7 pages of a menu. That was a task to learn it all but I sure did.

The greatest thing was the 30 different cheesecakes and 30 different cakes that came through there and the 15 or so bagels and 12 other bread choices ... Oh and like 20 teas. We couldn't go through those lists enough nightly they were so fun. Sometimes several times for each at the table. It was AWESOME! Lol

But the greatest thing truly was working Jewish holidays and being closed for all the American/Christian ones. That kept the peace big time. :-D

It's quite amazing to watch the process of making geftile fish. It is a skill handed down from generation to generation

Training those pike to swim into the glass bottles takes a lot of effort. Scientists are working on getting the pike to consume horse radish just prior to bottling so that the consumer can have a new option for fast food. Pre spiced geftile fish. Coming to your market (unless you live in AZ) soon

The same people that taught cucumbers to dive into bottles of vinegar and become pickles are working on the fish.

ECC nope......too much work....when I was dx'd & I decided I was doing tx, most kosher deli foods came off the menu....

It's way too rich, and too much salt for the liver.....especially while on tx.

Joe, when it's 110 everyday and never goes below 90 at night for two months.....I never know when I get the chills. I wear shorts and tanks, don't go out much, leave the ac on at 80 and every now and then I have to throw the covers on me.....so I guess it is possible. haha

The rest of the year is fantastic though....that is why our population skyrockets with snowbirds! It is too hot here though. I grew up in So Cal near Disneyland.....perfect weather...but earthquakes.

This is why I love shot club.....I get to try other places!! I hate the city, so I would most likely prefer the likes of up state NY though.

Gota, upstate NY is beautiful, and NYC is too if you have tourist dollars. As a resident and commuting on the subways it would be less attractive
