Oh, Viv, me too! LOVE the smell of wood, pavement (especially after a rain) and the smell of old books. There really should be a men's fragrance with those. Let's get to work and market it! Any HS men want to be the guinea pigs for our test panel, made up of Viv and me?

I really need to stop sawing old books with wooden covers on the pavement in the rain. Really, I need to stop. Gosh darn, now my shirt needs to come off because I have all this SAWDUST and RAIN and old book SHREDS on me.

Recon, a wake is when you go and pay respects to the person who died.. They are either in a open or closed coffin.
A cremation is when they burn the body..

I'm answering for real. I've never had a family member be cremated before, so I didn't know the proper terms.

my thought today:

and this premise doesn't necessarily have to be on a grand scale. i think this happens in smaller ways, too.
and i'm glad i'm noticing a change for my betterment.

yes, i agree. i love the smell of sawdust, but this wasnt the same since it is just sanding, not sawing. l love going to home depot or lowes though. i just walk around aimlessly so l can keep smelling. lol.

i have some weird connection with smells. smells are really important to me. i think i am more attracted to someones smell than their looks. i love kissing my husbands forehead at the end of the day when we are going to bed so i can smell him. my kids are the same way, i sleep with a cow pillow pet and a stuffed animal cow. they love to come smell my cows. lately they have been taking on of them to bed with them while i take a bath and i have to go wriggle them out from under their arms when its time for me to go to bed!

also what i realized on my walk today:
if you don't expect much out of someone, that's exactly what you'll get!

don't know why i'm being so "reflective" as of late, but i have.
and it' amazes me that as old as i am, i haven't learned some of the most basic lessons of life.
or maybe what it is, is that i learned them once, but didn't get those "refresher courses" along the way, so i forgot them.

also....my ham, swiss, onion, tomato, mayo on toasted english muffin was rather tasty today for lunch.
