My boyfriend is super attentive when it comes to acts of service and gifts. He makes me coffee as soon as he sees me up, brings breakfast in bed on occasion, does most of the cooking and dishes, and surprises me with random little gifts that are usually really thoughtful. I think I should feel pampered, but the truth is, it’s not really my thing. I raised my kids almost entirely as a single mom and on a really tight budget for one thing, so, I’m not used to it and also find some of it kinda wasteful. I don’t want to be unappreciative and I do appreciate that he’s really thoughtful, like getting me a rose gold eyeglass cleaner because he saw it matched my phone, wallet, purse. It’s just not something I needed, even though it’s really sweet he pays enough attention to think “that matches her stuff!” The thing is, I’m much more a touch and words of affirmation person and I’ve talked to him about it. He seems to make an effort for a day or two, as far as hugs, kissing my forehead or holding my hand, then falls back into his usual routine, which also includes almost never initiating sex. I think he’s initiated a couple times in our relationship. Things usually start with me rubbing his arm or chest and then he may take the reins. I’m pretty sure if I never reached out or mentioned it, we’d barely touch and possibly never have sex. He says it’s just life stress and he’s not even been masturbating because he’s just got too much on his mind otherwise. We do have a lot on our collective plates, but I’ve been through too much to not have a relationship that’s really fulfilling to me. I’m not at a point of throwing in the towel over sex when there’s so much good between us, but I’m not sure how to address it without making things worse, him feeling pressure to perform, or him not realizing I do appreciate everything else he does. I know some of it is my own triggers and past, but really feeling wanted on a physical level is really important to me.

Some things we don't talk about, we breathe them... Some things cannot be explained, but rather experienced. Some of the most healing moments arise when given the memory, acknowledging the love. One cannot go back in time; we move forward, and we carry the love we shared. No one but ourselves has the power to do so, or the permission to do so, but ourselves. So live life with your faith and...

I've been feeling like I don't matter my wife the other day instead of telling me she was having a pain day when I went to have sex with her she tell me afterwards that she having pain day due to her fribromyalgia and making feel like shit afterward saying she has a list of things from past 9 years of thing for me to do and is always adding more and more to this list and talk...

From everything that you've written he's a good guy.... I think you'll have to decide whether or not he's right for you or not
Having a boyfriend that's also a father is bound to have some complications as well as other responsibilities ….. I think this man has a ton on his plate if I remember right and it wouldn't be easy ….
I think when someone has children if they are great parents everything else seems to come second
If you believe that some of this is you and your triggers what about addressing that first..... Are you able to get into some therapy? and then see where you think the relationship stands? perhaps?
Big hug.....xo
I think doing things for each other is super important. I filled my husband’s car with gas this morning. He bought me a coffee maker today after after I mentioned in passing I wanted to get a small one for my office. It’s not about the gas and it’s not about the coffee maker. It’s that we are in the forefront of each others’s minds all the time. What a great thing you have someone who seems to consider you throughout the day, despite having his own stuff going on.
If you want someone more physically affectionate and it feels like settling to you, then maybe he’s not the man for you. But then let him go. It’s not fair to him otherwise.
