I agree with you about Hilary. She seems to be the most passionate about Health Care reform. The only thing I have against McCain given his war record, which is impressive, I think he may be in favor of staying in this Iraq thing for the long haul. I find it hard to find one candidate who has it all. I think Hilary is the closest. It will be interesting to see who will win the primaries. Hilary or Obama? Huckabee or McCain? Or maybe someone else. We shall see.

Anyone but hillary! I think she is the epitome of weak women. She got cheated on, and then lied to by her husband, and people say she's strong to stay with him. In my book, she's weak to stay with him! What are we showing our teenage girls? "oh sweetheart, good job, you stayed with a cheating man!! Yeah!" Not a fan.
I like many others. Obama is a good man---voted for him in Illinois. However, I also like Fred Thompson b/c he is honest, and is tough, which our country needs I think.

I don't care whether Hilary is a strong or weak woman in her personal life. None of my business. What I want to know is whether she will follow through on her campaign promises. If she can really set up a universal healthcare plan that work, more power to her. But that sounds like a really big "if."

I'm surprised at the people here boosting Ron Paul's "plan" to improve the healthcare system. I read the material at his website and it sounds like all he wants to do is leave things the way they are. That's a doctor for you. All he wants is his yacht fund to stay full. People who say that doctors can make intelligent suggestions about healthcare are kidding themselves. They gain nothing and lose a great deal from the changes that stand to be made.

Clinton and Obama are going to accomplish one thing. Split the party and see that we remain status quo. John Edwards really makes sense, and he doesn't take the big money from anyone. Do you really think the people funding Clinton and Obama's campaign won't want something in return?
Most likely, McCain will get the Republican nomination. In the last CNN poll, it showed the three against McCain. Clinton would lose by 2%, Obama may come closer, but Edwards would win 52% to 44%.
He has the best health care reform policy too. Just not the millions the other candidates have taken from the wealthy supporters. Do we want someone to win just because they have more money?

The real answers are not easy. The insurance industry is not near as inefficient as most people think. Areas that are never or rarely discussed are the high cost of non-adherence. It is reported that the failure of people to take their prescribed medications cost the country over $100 billion each year. The cost of overweight people exceeds that amount. The cost of not wearing a seatbelt is over $50 billion per year. 10% of all health care costs end up going to lawyers or are included to prevent lawsuits. It costs $800 million to successfully bring one drug to market. Small groups have broker fees included in their rates. These rates are anywhere from 6%-16% of the premium but there is no calling for reform or reduced fees. The government has two major programs and they are out of control as far as costs are concerned. The problem with medicare and medicaid is they negotiate such low fees with hospitals and doctors that these institutions pass the shortfall onto consumers that do not have those programs. I agree it would be great if everyone had coverage. Mandated coverage is not the answer because it will force companies out of business raise taxes and create a dependent society which will kill productivity and innovation. The answers are not easy but taking your medicine, losing weight, insurance brokerage reform and tort reform would make good first steps.

drsib, I understand what you are saying but what happens to people like me? I cannot go back for my checkups to see if the cancer is gone completely because I have no insurance and cannot afford to,and what if I should have a reoccurance? I am just supposed to die? Your situation is unfortunate and I feel for you. I do not have an answer for your particular situation. I was expressing a more long term solution realizing there will be people in transition. My guess is there are some resources available to you. I suggest you ask your doctor what he or she may suggest. There are still many people that will give of themselves for the benefit of others.

I am for Obama. He really has a plan to change Washington.

All Obama can really do is set an agenda and use his power of veto. It is the Congress that can affect change. I am more of a libertarian so I support the Ron Paul approach of less government and a more strict following of the Constitution. None of the candidates have a health care plan that will work unless we all accept the fact that everybodies taxes will go up.

Ron Paul probably knows more about the constitution than most. It doesn't matter what you say or promise. He tells it like it is. But I would still vote for Edwards.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) sent a list of questions to all presidential candidates, and they felt HILLARY best met their needs from the ANA standpoint.

UNIONS are also supporting HILLARY.

IMO, she has a plan, the determination and the ability to 'Get 'er done!'

This Country NEEDS Jobs as well...Fix the Nursing Shortage HERE...not by recruiting Nurse's from the Phillipine's here...they don't even practice Nursing the same way we do..so we are paying their travel, then their education to be trained like an American Nurse does her job here.
WHY is there a backlog of students TRYING to get into 2-year degree Nursing Programs?? WHY???

Personally, I think the entry level nurse should have their BSN...Bachelor's.

Anyways, something needs to be done about Health Care...many jobs are lost due to sending them overseas, there is NO Construction jobs here in Ohio...115 people OUT on my DH's Union List. He is in Indiana working...leaving our family of 4 for 5 days a week. WHY??

I'm for Hillary too. I just hope she can win Texas. I am from Texas and will be voting in the primary on Mar.4th. If taxes have to go up to make sure everyone is covered, so be it. The Canadians and the Brits don't mind.

Hillary will do very little to pass any health care reform. First, she is hated by the republican side of the house, second she can only do health care reform if she raises taxes. This is a difficult thing to do in the best of financial environments but I think it will be impossible during this downturn in the economy.

As far as jobs in Ohio. First if the jobs aren't there, you may have to move or retrain yourself. I think the areas to blame are the idiotic strategy of GM, Ford and Chrysler. "Build what America Buys." Thanks for the situation needs to be shared by the UAW who blackmailed "auto" into contracts that were not competitive in the world market and for protecting jobs that should have been eliminated. These actions have threatened the lives of all the workers and the retirees. You can also look at NAFTA and the WTO, both Clinton programs. And labor wants to vote for that? Maybe they are getting what they deserve.
