Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

My doctor has been completely useless diet wise. After 10 weeks he sent me an "information about gastritis" sheet which said to avoid fatty, acidic, etc food, As if I hadn't been doing that already, unbelievable.
I'm going to start trying fod map stuff. Tomorrow I'll try strawberries in the morning and see how it goes. I think what you need to keep in mind is everything has to be in moderation. e.g. if you eat a banana and feel fine after it, don't *just eat bananas* because that might hurt you. Keep eating one a day and maybe a few days later try eating two and see how it goes.
I have no idea what to eat but I think it's a matter of trial and error and moderation. Above all things, keep yourself positive. I know this sucks so bad and I've never had such a bad health issue in my 27 years but we'll all make it through!
Crackers would have wheat gluten so it would cause issues. I also ate white bread thinking it helped when I had nausea but I just kept feeling crap.
I have since gone low gluten and low starch. I switched to eating gluten free crispbread instead of bread. I eat basmati rice (much less starch than white and less irritating to the tummy than brown rice). I also have banana and strawberries in a smoothie for breakfast and dont have dairy (I use lactose free milk but I do eat cheese)
I've recently added carrots and aubergine (eggplant) to my diet and occasionally eat potato and squash. I can also eat chicken (no skin) and a little bit of steak (no fat).
I cant touch onions, tomatoes, garlic, sodas and I try to stay away from sugar. I do have maybe 1 cup of coffee once in a while (the weak instant stuff). I did have a slice of pizza the other day ( cheese pizza with no onion) and I had no symptoms (although I had nausea late that night)
I agree its trial and error and eating in moderation! And loads of water - or you end up constipated like me half the time LOL
