It is probably a yeast infection... Your doc can give you a pill to take, or you can use the OTC cream... They can happen anywhere that is dark, warm and moist...

Hi. I get rashes all the time except if I use a cream then powder. I get a cream from doctor for Ketaconzole 2%. I use it two times a day. After applying it the I use baby power to keep it dry.
Please go see your PCP..The skin should not be peeling away. Good luck to you. debby

Sound like a fungal infection......you can try otc anti-fungals ie creams for athletes feet, jock itch and there is a anti fungal powder also ask the pharmasist. I would however, suggest you to see your pcp and get a script and a notation in your medical records in order to document rashs and skin problems, so that if in the future you decide to have plastics documentation is in place. Due to having diabetes and being overweight I have gotten these rashes/fungal infections that get worse in the warm months and have been given a perscription for a generic anti-fungal cream from my pcp. d

this is going to sound odd but it helps keep these breakouts down

my gynecologist told me do not towel dry these areas instead use a hairdryer there it kills the bacteria. and follow up with cornstarch powder....Johnsons I find works best for me generic didn't do squat.

I was able to keep those rashes in check the entire year preop at 300lbs. just made me not mind going to the gyno so much when I discovered how smart she is lol. as was said above get it documented take some pictures of the rash.

If you think you might want cosmetic surgery at some point to remove excess skin, definitely go to your PCP. A history of rashes is one thing that might help to qualify your skin removal surgery as medically necessary, thus qualifying it for insurance coverage. Could save a bundle. :)

Yes go to the Doc, and get the cream, but not only that, some insurance co.'s will pay for skin removal if there is enough documentation showing that you are getting infections.

You have to be careful when you are sweating a lot not only does it smell bad but it can breed bacteria, our skin has natural bacteria like yeast/candidia that can grow out of control in a damp dark environment. The Doc will probably give you something that will be stronger than over the counter so it will go away faster.

I put lotion on out of the shower mainly because I live in the AZ desert, then I use femine powder like Vagisil, just dab it on with a terry cloth, in the folds of the skin and under the breasts, if I am sweating a lot I reapply during the day or at night before bed. I always have a travel size of powder in my purse, just in case.

I don't have problems much anymore but I used to. After showering I would towel dry gently and then blow dry the areas with a hair dryer. My doc suggested Zsorb powder which is an anti fungal talc powder. It works miracles. The key is to keeping the area as dry as possible

Talk to your Dr. for one thing.
There is a powder that's prescription -- NYSTAT -- I think is how you spell it.
I've don't the deodarent trick too but not when it's broken open. It helps before it happens.
The rashes are one of the biggest ways to get documentation for the cosmetic surgery to remove the excess skin. If there's a good point to dealing with them - that would be it. :)
I've heard the hair dryer too but not on high.

Ok this is what I found that works perfect nomore issues for me. I'm very larged breasted so you know the issue there so I went to walmart to get this cream for hby to help him when he sweats to help with rash an dthen I used it first and it worked right away.
BALMEX ADULTCARE *RASH CREAM* big tube,I take the cap off and sqeeze it from tube because its thick and hard to get through little hole in cap.It works better then the rash cream I got from dr offices.so I diffently will keep this on hand in my house,I rub the cream in and remember you wont need a lot because it is thick use a little at a time then if you need more use more.

You may want to see if ur ins covers to have the excess skin removed. Mine will and if that happens I will have it removed. I agree with Becca...its probably yeast rash. Your Dr. should write u a script for cream or a pill...I get rashes now under my breast and stomach area from my weight and it is usually yeast. Yeast loves moist areas where we sweat! In mean time I would not use powder cuz if it is yeast....the cornstarch in powder will make it worse. I would maybe use hydrocortisone cream or the cream that they have over the counter for yeast rash until u see ur Dr. Hope it gets bettter soon. x

My MD gave me a prescription for "ProShield Plus" cream - works great! I used to use a steroid-based prescription cream, but I started to get open wounds and had to stop. This stuff is wonderful - it comes in a larger green tube. She also prescribed "Nystatin" powder which helps keeps things drier than anything else I've used. Good luck!

I have been using baby penaten clear for the last 1.5 years, it is amazing. Works for diaper rash so I thought I'd try it. I used to blow dry the skin and use cornstarch and powder, but this works way, way better!

Thanks everyone im gonna see my pcp and get it documented, i still have alot of weight to lose before i can consider skin removal. Just hope it doesnt get worse as i lose.
