Hi everyone. I'm going to make this quick today. My back is still very painful, I can't stay in one position for long-if I sit, my back throbs, if I stand, pain shoots down my legs. I took tylenol and 3 doses of expired gabapentin that was originally prescribed for a friend (they gave it to me last time I had a spasm this bad). It barely took the edge off. I'm strongly considering a doctor's appointment, usually for a muscle spasm I don't bother because I don't need to pay someone to tell me to rest, ice and take NSAIDs. But the pain shooting down my legs is worrisome. I won't really have time to go until tomorrow, unless things get much worse and I go to the after hours clinic. I'm not kidding, the highlight of my day yesterday was that I didn't pass out. But it makes me wonder why I almost did a couple weeks ago for a spasm that wasn't nearly this bad. Thankfully no surgery today, schedule doesn't look too busy yet, and I'm going to try to do as little as possible. I have an ice pack ready for the drive into work, and I'll refreeze it for the drive home. Not sure how much that will help but I guess it won't hurt anything. I also still haven't slept enough, I move a lot in my sleep (fibro makes it uncomfortable to stay in one position for extended periods of time, at least for me) and now I get pain shooting through my lumbar spine every time, it took until about 1:45 am to figure out the least painful way to roll over. My life is a fucking party right now. But since everyone thinks my pictures are adorable I'll post another-Koshka has disappeared on me a few times and I finally found her hiding spot behind the coats on my hall tree in the bin with gloves/hats, she looks annoyed because I moved the coats to see her and disrupted her cave. I hope you all have a good Wednesday

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

Woke at 445 AM to a fox fight out front, and pain from arm. But stitches are out, yay.
Good luck with work and I hope you feel better soon.
Leo, yay no stitches! Hang in there. Sorry you're up so early.
I had a terrible meeting with my boss yesterday, where she was short and rude and talked over me a lot. But for once, I stood up for myself, and I said that I could tell that she was very frustrated, and that if I was causing any of her frustration, she should let me know and I'd work on that. She replied that she has a lot going on that doesn't have anything to do with me, and she apologized for her behavior. She even gave me a card later to thank me for my hard work. I'm just glad I said something instead of taking it.
Work is still busy and stressful, but I'm managing.
My depression is still the major issue; I'm fighting against it constantly. I'm also trying to figure out an important decision. Every time I think I'm done dreaming about having a child, my brain doesn't want to let it go. I'm not sure it would be even possible at this point, considering my age and reproductive health. But one of the largest barriers is gone, namely the financial one. With all my hard work over the past two years, and by cutting back on everything, my husband and I will be completely out of debt next month. So if I were to have a child, we'd be able to make it work financially at least. I'd be able to stay home with the baby (which is what I'd want to do.) I just worry so much about the depression, and my overall energy levels and health--what kind of mother would I be? Those of you with children, did you have fibro first, or were you diagnosed after your children were born? How do you do it? We also don't have a support network in terms of family. The thought of pregnancy makes me very anxious, and I know that making this choice would absolutely change the rest of my life. It's on my heart these days, and I ask for prayers.
Wish you all a great day.
Leo, yay for no stitches! Hopefully Dahlia gives you a warning next time she hides in the dark closet.
ZK, it's so great that you're out of debt next month! What a major accomplishment and you should be proud of yourselves. I don't have children, so I can't help you out there. Prayers coming your way.
We had another estimate yesterday for the work on the house. Fortunately, I remembered to stand up more often so didn't end up with the screaming back pain. Then we went to a lobster and steak dinner presentation. We're not going to buy the product, but the dinner was nice! Today is gym day and one last estimate. There's nothing on the calendar for tomorrow and I'm trying to keep it that way!
Miki, I'm sorry you hurt your back leaning over to get the cat litter. I hate when things pull or twerk just right to cause major pain like that. I bet it will just take time to settle down, like my stupid ribs after being sick. Have you tried Lidocaine or icy hot patches. They helped me get through so I didn't have to take any meds that would cause other issues, like severe stomach pain. Good luck.
Leo, I'm glad your stitches are out. I just wish your pain level was improving. Sending you some healing chocolate (wouldn't that be nice).
ZK, yay! I'm so glad you said something to your boss and that she apologized and realized how crappy she was being. I got fibro after my girls were born, I'll just say this, my girls get me through life and they are the best part of who I am. With that said, if I had fibro before I had twins I would not have had kids. But also remember I work full-time. I will be praying that God guides you and that things improve greatly for you.
Painedone, It sounds like you had a nice dinner. I hope today goes good for you and that your butt is feeling better.
I'm overwhelmed more, if that's possible. I hate insurance. That surgery in Dec 2017 for my rectum is now all of a sudden costing me $1,850. I logged into my Integris account for a monthly payment and my balance was all of a sudden $2,200. I cried so much yesterday and last night. I'm just beside myself. I'm starting to feel like no matter how hard I try to be happy it's impossible!!! I'm about to call insurance. I have a school meeting at 11 that's teleconference thank God, and work is too much.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Not feeling so hot today after my boss putting me in tears yet again yesterday. Between that and going back to the gym my right leg barely wants to work and my low back is shooting pain. I took some advil because I really don't want to take the tramadol until after yet another meeting with my boss this morning. I cry easier (happy, sad, you name it, I cry easier) on the tramadol. I need to get my self-confidence higher and stand up for myself and what I want. I also need to figure out my life with fibro. For right now, I just need to get through my 10:30 meeting.
Leo glad the stitches are out! One more milestone down in this darn healing process! I hope you have a lighter day today and can rest after waking up so early.
Zombie congratulations on being out of debt next month! That is something my husband and I are working toward as well. My endo was bad at 16 which is what lead to the hysterectomy last year. I never wanted to have my own kids but now that I can't there is a part of me that wishes I could. I grew up with a bi-polar depressed mother and it was not fun at all, that being said, it wasn't fun because she did not take her medicine or take her condition seriously.
PainedOne I am glad that you were able to go to a nice dinner and will have the last estimate in today. Have a good time at the gym, I hope you are able to get your workout in.
Twin, I understand about the medical bills. Every time I feel like I'm getting caught up I get some other astronomical bill. They have sent me to tears many times. I am so sorry you are there now. You will get through this and just pay what you can and say screw them. Hospitals, drug companies, and doctors make phenomenal amounts they can handle getting payments. Sending hugs and chocolate chips.
Miki, that almost sounds like back spasm with some angry sciatic stuff going on, Over the years, and many hours with PT, they always advised me to find the position of rest for it. And to not counter stretch away from it at first. It needs more rest then stretch. And stretch is just to the point of pain, then release. Repeat that a few times and then rest. As it heals, you stretch into it further. But most doctors might suggest predinsone (just a 10 day course). As it will immediately reduce the inflammation better than NSAIDS will. And for any sciatic pain, faster is better.
I ended up getting a wrap around ice pack. And I wore that thing often. It was what took the edge off the pain.
Hope today goes by fast for you.
Leo, LOL, I chuckled at your Dahlia. I also do the same thing back to our cats when they do that to me.
Zombie, Good job for standing up for yourself. Proud of you, girl! And as for that whole momma thing. Looking back, I did have fibro before kids, just not the dx.
The one thing you need to remember is that there are all kinds of moms out there. And we can even go into parenthood thinking we are going to be (fill in the blank) kind of parent. But the reality is, we do not yet know the kids we are about to have/or bring into our homes.
I thought I had a good handle on what parenting would be like. And I ended up with two autistic and beyond wonderful boys. They taught me how to be a better parent. And I keep learning each day. When you stop learning, in my opinion, is when you become a "bad" parent. Kids, just like us adults, are ever changing, maturing along the way. That is what all the experts are referring to when they talk about being flexible.
So, I say, from this fibro momma to you, go ahead, do it. Fibro will not stop you EVER from being a mom. It might stop you from wanting to run somewhere but an errand is not a kid. That power of love for a kid is going to be one of the best things for you and your fibro. Honestly, I secretly wish we could still have another one. And I dream of adopting. But to fill that void, we brought on Sargie instead.
I will pray that your heart will lead you. I sometimes wonder if those heart tugs we feel to start a family are actually your future kiddo pulling on your heart strings vs just our own dreams and wishes.
Good morning Ann93
Pained, I need to remember to do that sort of stuff. My back is still a little miffed at me from the other night, standing/sitting each both for too long of a time.
Twins, I am so sorry your insurance company is jacking you around. Ours did that to my hubs yanking our network around on us after we signed up. I went nuclear on them and do not once regret it. Seems to be the newest insurance trend. And I'm sure they have some stupid ironclad verbiage that rolled out with ACA making it all possible knowing people would get charged even if they had no insurance. Oh, darling, don't get me started on the barfbag the insurance industry is. I just might not stop.
But don't cry over insurance. They don't deserve them. Rage...that is a good thing to unleash on insurance agents!
Today, is already spent. I have so much to get done today and not enough hours to do it all in. Tomorrow morning we will have the builders out here making repairs and then Friday I spend prepping the house for Easter.
Sargie had training last night. The poor thing didn't know what hit him, LOL. He was quick to learn, and deep down I knew he had that potential. He wants to work for praise, which is good. But it took about 1/2 and hour to figure out what was tapping him on the neck so to speak. (we're using an e-collar).
But by the end of that hour, he was sitting on point and staying there with a single tap and then verbal commands. I need to squeeze in training today and somehow tomorrow. The rest of the weekend will be fairly easy I think to squeeze in that time.
But I better run. Hugs to you all and to all who follow.
Leo YAY for getting your stitches out. I hope that helps you feel a little more comfortable. Praying for the nerves to heal quickly and lessen the pain.
ZK Yay for speaking up for yourself. It is hard to do with a boss but sometimes it is called for. I had already had my kids before Fibro. I think if I had known I still would have had them.
Pained one I am glad you are being more aware of the need to stand and stretch out. I hope todays meeting goes well.
Twins I am sorry you are feeling so stressed out. Insurance companies will try to stick you with the bill every time. I hope calling them will lessen the amount owed. Hugs
Maynard I am sorry your boss had you in tears yesterday. I hope todays meeting goes better. It sounds like you are really struggling. Praying today goes better.
Wonder I don't think if there were 50 hours in the day it would be enough for you. You are always piling on so much for yourself. You need a day off to breathe. I am glad your doggie training is going so well.
I posted yesterday but when I came back to catch up last night it wasn't here. I don't know what happened. I spent time stitching on the quilt yesterday only to find out I stitched the wrong pieces together. I will need to take it out today and do it over. I have been fighting with the postal service over a pair of sandals they never delivered. I have ring and it films anyone coming to my door. The day she said she delivered them she didn't come to my door. The postal service says there is nothing they can do. So I am out $65. I will have to find a store that sells Clarks shoes to get them as I refuse to buy another pair to have her steal them too. I am so angry about this.
Hi to Blue and Fantod. I hope you have a great day.
Miki, I'm glad you are going to a doctor about that and I hope you can hang in there till the appointment tomorrow. If not, there's always the ER. Thanks for sharing the cute pic of Koshka's hiding place lol. Spike has all the secret hiding places around here... he can be impossible to find. A couple days ago I was looking for him and walked past the shoe rack with the carry kennels on top and out popped his head out of one of them. I guess he was sleeping in there.
Leo, whoohoo no stitches!
Zombie, proud of you for sticking up to your boss :). And glad she gave you a card thanking you for your work. I'm in the same boat about wanting kids.... but I want to adopt, perhaps a pair of siblings. When we were dating my husband liked this idea, but now he argues that he wants his own baby.
I hope this rotten IBS flare is on the way out.... ugh. And I'm clenching in my sleep so TMJ is bothering me. We have 9 days left to close on the property and no lender has agreed to lend to us yet. And we can't extend without one. My husband is freaking out. I have acupuncture this afternoon. And I ordered the books for my summer classes.
Back in a sec.
Maynard, sending hugs and chocolate chips to you too. I'm sorry your boss made you cry and that this fibro life sucks period, and is impossible with a job.
Wonder, I'm just so stressed that even if I get approved for IVIG now, I can't afford it. I'm so sick of struggling so much. I always wanted to train our dogs, I just don't have the energy or time. I'm glad you are doing it with Sargie.
Autumn, those clark shoes are not cheap, I have a few pairs. I'm so sorry you didn't get them and now you are stuck. It's definitely not like Amazon, any experience I've had they send a brand new one the second you complain. Hugs and blessings coming your way.
Blue, IBS be gone! I hope that helped a bit. I'm praying about your loan. I know that's not helping your TMJ or study time. Hugs
I was definitely mad when I called BCBS this morning, but the lady was super helpful and nice. She is reviewing my case and told me to give her 2 weeks to hear back on her discoveries. She thinks by quick view that I owe it. CURSE MEDICAL BILLS!
Welcome, Ann!
Pained....ooooh the lobster and steak presentation sounds yummy. Glad your back is doing better today. I hope the estimates wrap up and you guys can move forward on something. We've gone backwards in our case, and now are without a lender, and only have nine days left to close (or the seller puts the land back on the market). I'm wishing you luck with your house estimates!
Angela, I'm sorry depression is at it.... and I hope your surgery helps you feel better. Prayers for peace of mind and healing.
Maynard, *throws rotten tomatoes at your boss*! That sucks that pain killers make you more emotional, it would be great if they didn't have any side effects. I can't take them because they make me so spaced out. Is it possible to transfer to another department? Or work from home part of the week?
Wonder, that's good news about Sarge lol. Good luck with the builders (that will be my story soon) and I hope you get to relax the rest of the day.
Autumn, that's really rotten about the postal service. I've had the contents of my packages stolen (an empty box taped up), but when presented to the PO they claimed I had no evidence against them since I had no before and after picture. Are they kidding? I swear, the crap people will cook up in order to not take responsibility for their faults, amazes me.
Twins, boo on your insurance! It sounds like you need to stick a Wonder on them, the way she handled that water supply company LOL. Being that I have government insurance, I have no idea how to advise you.... all I know is, I remember how bad it sucked when they sent me about $3k worth of bills Dec '17 - Jan '18 and the run around they dished out. I'm so glad you called someone and they were nice to you. I hope they come back saying you don't have to pay that!
Around and reading at the moment. Trying to get out the door to go to the post office...
Angela I hope the surgery helps you. I had precancerous cells too with a history of cancer in my family. I got the hysterectomy and have never regretted it. I hope you will consider adoption. I think people who choose to raise a child that has no family are special people.
Twins that sucks about the insurance. I say sick wonder on them. I hope after they review it you owe at least less than they are saying now. Hugs.
Thanks to all who gave me information to get the pair of shoes I need. Your support means a lot. I hung up on the postal service after giving them a piece of my mind. I also informed them that facebook and pinterest will hear about them not taking responsibility.
