You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

It’s already damp here, and it “warmed up” to 31 degrees this morning, only to be 3 degrees again tomorrow. With the storm coming, this is about the worst fibro weather in existence. I’m so glad to be off today. I already feel like I need a nap (I’m not letting myself do that until I get the car inspected, and that way I’ll get out before the temps plummet). Also, clients at work are *not* taking the whole curbside thing well…it’s worse this time because they were able to come in for a while, and a lot of people were told when they made the appointments over a month ago that we were letting people in. We’re getting more attitude and abuse from people than ever. And apparently half our patients will not survive a few minutes without their owners present -_-. Yes it sucks to not be with your pet but the reality is that 99% of the cats do just fine. I also don’t think that’s a valid reason to not bring in a sick cat, at all. I’m leaving Miki for the day when she has her dental, and I know very well she does better with me there-cattle dogs are usually one person dogs, she’s anxious in unfamiliar situations, and she will push the boundaries with other people to see what she can get away with. But she needs care, so it’s gonna happen. But it’s really anxiety inducing every time I make or confirm an appointment because I have to tell them they can’t come in, and they may not like that. I think a client heard the relief in my voice when she said she understood. I’m dreading work even more now. I just want to hide until whenever this is over. I’m afraid I might have a panic attack at work, in front of people, and that’s a trigger for me (are they actually going to yell at me for it? I highly doubt it, but it’s a very slim possibility that my brain won’t let go of). And now I really need to walk Miki, I’ve stalled long enough. Will try to check back later
3 degrees here. Not sure of the wind chill, and really don’t want to know. Yes, we are fibro fierce! What else can we do?
Angela. Freezing our tails off here too. Sorry it’s hit your fibro. Wrap in blankets.
Miki, I really don’t understand people getting so upset over curbside. Do they like Covid? Just ridiculous. Like you are not going to take great care of their cats as always. Sorry that is happening.
Glad you have a day off. Get the car thing done, then come home and bundle up.
I don’t know if anyone has read my last two posts from yesterday, but I will get way too angry to write them again.
My son in law has Covid and was extremely sick yesterday during the day with bad chest pain. I was worried sick and crying and praying. Last night late, my daughter texted me, and he is so much better that his chest quit hurting.
Our Forester is not here yet. Still Covid problems with the truckers. Perhaps today, we were told. It’s 2 days late. I’m not upset. Covid is out there and nothing can be done about it.
The only thing good about this cold weather, is that it will freeze the butts off the 49ers on Saturday night when they play my Packers. Can’t wait to watch the game.
I had to send my psychiatrist a message. For almost 3 weeks I’ve been having nightmares, and I wake up very sad. Some I can’t remember. Others I do, and they are about my dad. I am quite sure this is a PTSD thing. But I have no idea what triggered it. I don’t want to sleep at all anymore, but I can’t help it. My eyelids go shut.
My fibromyalgia is acting up with this weather. Which normally hits me in the shoulders and upper back. So add that to the rest, and I don’t feel so well. My appetite is off again. Hubby is making eggs tonight.
Take care.
It appears that the glow tube on our oven is dying. It is either that or the control panel. I hope it is the glow tube. That *has* to be less expensive than the control panel *if* I can find the part. I bought the stove when I moved in here. It needs to be replaced but that is not happening anytime soon. We do have another oven in the family room kitchen (formerly a MIL apartment) so we can fall back on that. I just don't need the expense. I have to research that later today.
I talked to my mother last night. She got a new PCP which I think is a mistake to begin with but my sister doesn't think the old one was doing the job. What my sister refuses to accept is that COVID is hitting everyone hard and the doctor sending someone to Urgent Care for a sinus infection instead of coming into an already overrun office is OK. The new doctor changed her BP med. The last time that happened she collapsed and was hospitalized for a week. I don't even know why my sister allowed it. Mom didn't feel good after starting the new med so they made an appointment with her cardiologist. Her EKG was a mess so she is back on her old meds which we know work just fine. SMH
We could get a few inches of snow (the usual nebulous forecast) Monday/Tuesday. Who know but I am going to get gas today and run a couple of errands. Then I am in for the duration. Have to make a shopping list here in a minute and get my order done.
AngelaJo - I hear you on the pain stuff today. Hang in there.
Miki - I am sorry that people are being such assh*les again. It is not warranted. I hope that your car inspection goes smoothly. Have a power nap and relax.
Hi Ida - Glad to hear that your son in law is feeling better. That woman has probably been going to work too. What a terrible human being. I hope that your psychiatrist can offer some help to you. Sending support and a hug.
OK - Off to formulate my list of stuff that I need. Shoutout to Miliy, LilMIssy, Zombie, PuppyMom, PainedOne, Twin and Autumn.
Whew chalé, Yes same here the weather is affecting me too.
*Bringing in a bunch of different warm comfortable blankets, big fuzzy socks & hot chocolate for everyone :)
Big hugs <3
I am a mess. My neck and upper back have been horrible and last night I twisted my knee in the shower and it is really bad today. Also woke up with hips throbbing today. Icing my knee right now . My ankles are throbbing too.
I just sent a text to my son to see if he can do a few things for me after work. Why is it so hard to ask for help? I feel guilty. He will be out of town most of the weekend so I thought today I would ask for help.
I need a nap too. 5 hours of sleep is not enough for me.
Ida , I am glad your SIL is doing better . That's scary. That woman is a terrible person knowingly spreading Covid.
Managed a brief nap.
Whatever is in this feling "Fortiflora" probiotic, can we get it? B/c dayumn, y'all. Both cats are bouncing off walls like kittens. They're over 3 years old. We need this for us! Now, if we knew how...
My to-do list got real short. Hubby said, 'Oh shi%, my monthly mailer!" so I have to stamp and label 750 things. Off to watch TV with my brain and do the rest with my hands.
PUMAA POWER! (and, y'know, climate control. Owie owie)
My psychiatrist is putting me on a drug that’s supposed to help take away nightmares. I sure hope it works.
Love you all
