So there's a Bigfoot festival going on soon and Hubby is soooo enthused.
I've spent so much of my life outdoors. I'm 99% sure their whoops and thumps and such are probably people up to no good tryihng to scare other folisk outta the woods without getting in trouble.
Why do I say that?
There's moonshiners in my DNA. And people who've lived in the forests since before white folks. If something was out there, we'd know. Have I had uneasy moments? Yes. Do I think it's a cryptid? No. If you've ever been on the wrong end of a cat staring at you, you know it can feel very weird. I reckon the uneasiness is my primitive brain sending my modern brain signals my modern brain can 't translate very well. So, go with that gut. It may indeed be:
a person ...
poaching timber
squatting on public lands
moonshining
growing pot
tapping a pipeline to illegally harvest crude or natural gas (yes, that can happen)
illegally pann ing for gold in a public lands creek or river
evading law enforcement
Ah, but tree structures! I've seen three in the woods near me in the last 15 years. Each one was due to a Boy Scouts expedition.
The thonk-thonk on trees! Ever hear an elk get pi$$ed? Or even a big white-tail? The clack-crunch when they smack their antlers to warn you off? Gee, what's that sound like? Hmm.
Eyes watching you! Duh. You're an invader.
The apples gone missing! Did you run eight cameras pointed from eight angles alllll night? No? Then it was probably anything from Bambi to Skippy the Squirrel. Chill out.
Indentations in moss! Old tracks, and if the flower petals aren't harmed YOU KNOW NOTHING STEPPED ON IT. FFS. Even a human in shoes will harm flower petals, yes, even on mossy ground. I grew up with moss. it springs back but trace damage remains. Such as to tiny wildflowers next to the moss.
Whoop! Whoop! See: humans and then see coyotes, owls, loons, moose or elk, and oh yeah, loons can be mistaken for a canine howl. So, y'know, let's all just chilld out, 'kay?
I am 99% skeptic, as you can see. "What scared that fox!" Well, that growl sounded like either a bear or really angry bull deer of some sort, so yeah, it's running away from it. *(yawn* You want scary? Bull moose, elk or deer in a bad mood. you'd swear it's a frigging grizzly and it's Bambi's uncle.

So, on that note, off to indulge Hubby's Bigfoot fascination. Whee. Yes, I rolled my eyes. I'd go on, but why?
Have a wonderful and cryptid-free weekend!

70FLast night my son from Georgia called to say his car was totaled in a hit and run accident. So today I'm looking for cars to buy in Georgia for him so he can get to work. Hunter has mental health issues and no medical insurance to his bills are high. He just got a new job where an apartment is provided as he transfers patients to apointments, they are in rehab. Sandra, how was work? Do you...

Fun facts to up your day:The Big Bang wasn't IN space... it was OF space. How does that happen? Well, now you know why I'm NOT a physicist. Cuz I dunno. It just happened. Thena gain a new hypothesis is that our "black energy/matter" is actually waste dumped in our universe from somewhere else's black holes. How and all that? Don't ask. You start getting all "The Matrix" and muttering...

I'm exhausted and the rain started pretty early so I'm really not motivated. I need to head to Leominster soon. And I'm going to think about it more, but I'm probably going to get a second opinion from a new dentist. Everything I've read does say crowns are recommended for worn down teeth, but the dentist should discuss if there's not a lot of tooth left there could be issues and offer other options. And it shouldn't go almost a week without anything on it.
Adding to all my stress lately, Miki was limping when I picked her up. My dad had no idea and my mom said it was because she had a pebble stuck between her toes and she was fine after she pulled it out. She wasn't, it was very noticeable. I'm not upset with them if she hurt herself somehow, but I'm not thrilled they didn't even bring it up. I asked about it. She's not swollen and her range of motion is fine, no wounds or scratches on herpaw that I can see, but clearly putting weight on it hurts. I'm giving her gabapentin, and obviously with the weather she'll be taking it easy this weekend anyway. I can't give her nsaids because she's on steroids. Would love to just have a day or two that don't stress me TF out
The TNR trapper comes tomorrow. She has two traps out that are not baited. She's bringing two more traps as the program sponsoring neutering will take two more from this location. Pretty happy about that.
It's been another stupid day around here. I'm trying to get some stuff done in the house. General cleaning up. My partner fixed my nieces car this morning. I vacuumed it out and he got it washed. I have so many things that need to be done and not enough time or energy.
I have seen some gorgeous sunset pictures from last night in advance of the Noreaster.
Leo - My brother accidentally got caught up in a Bigfoot meet up on one of his many trips. He found the whole thing hilarious.
Miki - I hope that Miki's foot will be OK. I think seeing another dentist is a very good idea. They should have fitted you in right away. I hope the storm effects are not too bad in your area.
That's it for moi! Waves!
Fan, oh, yeah, gorgeous pics but I'm glad I'm not in the way of that storm. Nope. LOL on your bro. I mean, where I grew up, my dad's fam was there all the way back before .... and some before whites. If something was around? We'd know.
