Except for advil, I only take Soma to help relax muscles at bedtime, other than that over the counter advil, etc.
What has helped me the most is the D Ribose that someone here suggested and I found Creatine (now on trials for MS and fibro). helped more than any meds.
Good luck!
I'm new at the pain-game, but not depression. There seems to be 'a' magic pill for very few. Luckylucky them.
The ad's don't do it for everyone--pain-wise and for depression.
I'm hoping to try tramadol if my dx warrants it. My mood has been good and stable thanks to polypharmacy, and I hesitate to make a change.
Good luck--post your results!
I was only taking tramadol for a very shorttime. It did help the pain some, but could not tolerate the nausea. Can't say it caused cognitive impairment, since I took it for such a short time.
I was on a few things....have recently stopped most of them on a daily basis.....So now I only take Celexa daily....helps with mood swings and depression. I take Benadryl at night to help me sleep. I take Flexeril once in a while, if my muscles are really hurting....
For fatigue I do D-ribose and several other supplements....I listed them in my journal (Nov 27, 2009 entry)....I've also drastically changed my diet....no more caffeine, and no processed sugar. This has helped TREMENDOUSLY with my energy levels.
I also do stretching, swimming, heat, massage, etc for muscle pain. Nothing too crazy, just easy exercise.
Hope you find what works for you....there hasn't been a magic pill for me!
HUGS from down south :)
I'm in mid-relationship with meds. right now so I'm just taking tylenol to take the edge off. But, the new experiment will be Lamictal for nerve and Baclofen for muscle. I also have to take Pepcid for GERD and high dose of Vitamin D. I sleep just as crappy with drugs as without so I'm gonna stay away from the sleep stuff for now.
But, I've tried a boat-load of drugs for this and still looking for that perfect fit for me.
