Good morning from the hotel hideaway. Today we have to go home and see what we can and can't clean up, take Mom for early-morning bloodwork, and see if the insurance claims person can come sooner than, oh, the plumbers...
I will say one thing, I am sleeping well. No choice. Too tired not to.
So other than having to deal with thousands of issues at once... I'm just fine. OMG. Actually, I am coping by ignoring my emotions and focusing on keeping Hubby in a good state of mind. Not good long-term, but short-term? It's letting me function.

So did you know that some flea killers (liek the one we got) kill the fleas by... well, starving them? It's weird, but what happens is, the egg hatches, the flea larva bops out and hits the toxin, and then it can't develop a mouth. So it can grow to be a flea, but it acn't eat. No biting, no sucking. Ergo, death. Is that creepy or what?!
We have to vacuum our laminate floors every day for a week to wake up the flea eggs. The vibrations encourage them to hatch. Well, ew. Things I didn't wanna know.
Also, fleas ideally hatch between 70=-90 F, and love it when it's humid. I'm starting to see some benefits to a cold tundra here.
And even with all that? We still have to re-wash all the bedding and so on, b/c hey, there might be lurkers. (I doubt it, but I am following orders.)
Meanwhile, my husband was convinced by the plumber that the sewage pipe that broke? Was because I use drain cleaners. (Yes, it's call vinegar and hot water. HOrrifying.) First of all, the water from the sinks/tubs doesn't go into the same pipe as the toilet sewage, so that's impossible. Second of all, the fact my husband has never realized toilets don't go flushing into the same pipes as our tubs is... Well, kinda sad, really.
Meanwhile, tomorrow is the 15th anniversary of the attacks on NYC and DC by al-Qaeda, so fi you do *not* want to re-live it? Avoid TV. Everything is running retrospectives, if it's not airing sports.

OK, gotta go dash and get Mom to blood work. Her pituitary might be glitchy from all the radiation. They targeted it carefully, but still...
Have a good, soft, easy weekend, all!

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
If you want to read about my eye stuff, just take a look at yesterday's check-in. It's still hurting, but not so puffy. Needle to the eyelid was rather disturbing. But I lived.
My niece had her baby yesterday. He had breathing problems and had to be rushed to a university hospital. He is on antibiotics for a lung infection, and is improving. This is my 19 year old niece who is not married. We are praying this makes her grow up a bit, as she has made some poor decisions.
Hubby has a project for today where I can sit in my office chair. We are purging file today. I told him I would work for an hour, and then I needed to rest. Too much has been happening for me lately, and I just have to take it easy for a few days. I leave for son's house on Tuesday afternoon - Friday morning. Just babysitting Wednesday and Thursday. The week after, I only have one doctor's appointment, and nothing else. I think I'll work on painting my sign a little bit each day.
Talk to you all more later....
Ida, I read about your procedure. I hope it doesn't come back showing anything, and I'm so glad they were nice and helped you so much. I hope you do nothing but rest until you leave Tuesday for your son's. Congrats on the new baby in the family, I'm praying everything will be fine with him. Please keep us posted on how he is doing.
Sonya, it's the small ones that can hurt so darn bad. Kind of reminds me of a papercut when I'm in the mail room at work. It feels like a razorblade slicing my hand. LOL. I hope it heals fast and you notice a big improvement in it by tomorrow.
I'm about to take the girlies to Target for a few things and then I'm getting my haircut at 12. I'm thinking pretty short. Blue and BBmom, you may like it. :-) I wish we could post pics on here. Talk to you later!
Have a fantastic weekend.
Sonya, oh geez, the door-slam! Eek! Cuddly soft purrs to your finger.
Hey, Twin, short sounds cute! Don't overdo at Target w/ the girls.
I survived taking Mom to bloodwork (with Hubby) and then going to the house to see the Chaos. THat really depressed me. We're doing our laundry here at the hotel. It's just too... yeah. On the plus side, while insurance won't cover the hotel or meals, they're definitely covering ceiling repairs and may also compensate up to half of plumbing costs. Until we know, however, we have to ask the in-laws. Ugh.
I have to admit, the hotel contintental breakfast is tempting. Omelettes, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, yogurt... Oh geez... I'm being good and sticking to almonds in my oatmeal, but ooooooh, the waffles almost got me today. Chocolate chip with whipped cream is an option. *drool*
Blessings toa ll. I am going to have a good breakdown later on today when Hubby is out of the room. For now... Soldiering on, tromp tromp tromp.
Yay Leo! I'm glad that you are coping!! My ex husband was like your hubby. Not much idea how how things actually work. He also knew nothing about cars. At times, it was really mind boggling. The flea solution does sound really creepy - ewww. I hope that everything is OK with your Mom's bloodwork. Sending you all good vibes.
Ida - I'm glad that your eye is doing better today! The doctor and nurse were so nice! I'm glad that they were to make things easier for you. I hope that your nieces baby will be OK. I am going to do any easy project today too and then spend the rest of the day resting. I hope that you can get a good nap in today! Hugs!
Sonya - OMG - that sounds so painful!! I am sorry that happened. I'm always covered with bruises from running into stuff and sometimes tripping or just falling because I can :-). Blue has probably taken lessons from me. I hope that you and your partner have a good weekend!
TwinMom - Have fun with the girls this weekend and enjoy your new do! Sending you chocolate chips and a hug!
AngelaJo - I hope that by the time you read this that you are feeling much better today!
Hi to Blue, and BBMom! My partner is getting ready to empty the freezer in the garage and defrost it. Doesn't that sound like *fun*! And, he is going to move it and the fridge next to it so we can clean behind them. I can hardly wait......................for my nap. Talk to you all later! Peace out!
Poor sonya. Sorry about your finger. Try some ice. I pinched all of my fingertips while pulling a garage door down once. Not too smart, I know. Anyway, hurt like heck for days. Take care.
Twinmom, enjoy the shopping and haircut. I always feel better after I get a new do. Take some time to rest later.
Glad your ceiling damage is covered, Leo. Wish there was more I could say, but I'm at a loss with all you have been through. Just hang in there.
Fantod, it's been rainy here too. Sorry you feel crummy. Defrosting a freezer does not sound fun at all. My little one in the garage needs it. I just keep ignoring it and hope it goes away. :o)
bbmom, I feel so bad for you. Take care of yourself. If you are not up to going to stuff, don't go. Don't worry about what other folks can handle. They don't have fibro. It is hard not to do everything, though, I know.
Angela, glad you feel a little bit better today. And that you slept so well. I can't say the same. I was up several times dabbing my eye, as it was bugging me. I've never dressed up a dog. Zeb would have never put up with it. When we were in puppy training class, he pulled a bow off a yorkie's head. It was a boy, so I figure Zeb thought that wasn't right. lol
My eye is doing better, but I have caught a cold since I checked in this morning. My head is all stuffed up. Also, I ate a giant hunk of onion from my salad at lunch, and now I have major heartburn. Oh, I hate that.
Hubby has changed his mind on working on the office. I am so relieved. I sure don't feel like it. I have washed a few loads of laundry.
I haven't heard from my SIL, so I'm assuming little baby is doing well. I know he was doing better last night when I last heard from her.
I'm just going to sit like a lump and watch the Badgers football game. They are playing the Zips, from Akron. I've never heard of them.
Take care, all.
Leo, I'm sorry about the mess on your hands. I will join you for a good breakdown (when my husband isn't around either -I will journal about it later). I'm glad insurance is picking up a good portion of the tab.
Ida, I saw your post when I got home in the evening. I'm glad you got that over with. I hope it's nothing to worry about, either. Prayers the swelling goes down.
Twin, I can't wait to see the cute cut :)
Fantod, a nap sounds great! Hope your aches ease up on you...
Bbmom, holy moly, a mile and a half?! You must feel like hamburger. I hope you have the next few days off to recover from that. You should get a hoverboard!
Angela, sorry you're in pain still but glad it's backing off. I'm glad the flu feeling is going away.
I ran around with multiple VA related errands yesterday. Luckily most of them were in the same building. Saw the social worker and she gave me some more information about who to see for marital counseling at the VA. Also had a billing disaster to deal with. When I saw the lady doc last month, the clinic billed the wrong dept and that dept sent me a bill. And around and around I was sent on a merry-go-round yesterday with "who" is supposed to handle the bill. So the social worker grabbed the phone and started yelling at the lady (when someone finally called me back) and told her off. LOL.
I saw the man who does paperwork for home modifications. Turns out it's a voc rehab program. And the only way they will do modifications is if you're homebound and unable to work outside of the house. Sigh. He referred me to my doc about the railings and things. But had me fill out an application anyway to see if there's anything they could do like get me classes or what not. I had one more VA related errand that was in another building I had to drive to, but it was easy because all I had to do was drop off a stack of paperwork. Then head home. I was so tired when I got home because I only got a few hours of sleep.
My shoulders still ache. The R side is getting better but now the L side feels like Godzilla gave it a good kick. Every night I sleep with a heating pad on. Knees hurt too but not as bad as the shoulders.
I'm feeling a rainbow of emotions today: fury, depression, heartache, betrayal, and probably others I have yet to identify.
Had a bunch of drama w/ that man I married when I got home yesterday. I've come to realize I don't think he's the man I thought he was. I don't really know who this man is.... and maybe getting married was a mistake?
I told him I'm tired of feeling invisible and tired of decisions being made without discussing them with me 1st. Like his 3 week "nonnegotiable" trip when I had to move alone . Emailing the landlady and telling her we don't need the dishwasher, even though dishes are a constant source of friction. Inviting his female alcoholic ex roommate over to visit and stay HERE!! (She hasn't come yet, but still). And the last one.... I've been having discussions with my husband over the past month about going to AZ to visit for Christmas an uncle and aunt I haven't seen in many years. He's been telling ME how his deaf sister (and husband and kids) want to visit us sometime soon. I said OK maybe in the spring then. Well, he went behind my back and told them come visit "whenever you feel like" so next thing you know we got an email that they're coming for Hanukkah and Christmas (for about 8 days), attached their plane ticket itinerary, they *may* be STAYING with us, too?? Since my husband decided to invite them to stay without talking to me. And then I find out he offered them *his* car as he put it.
And my husband said it's HIS car and HIS schedule, he'll do with it as he pleases, he doesn't have to ask me about a darn thing! WTF! Then he started b*tching and pointing to the floor and around the house that he's had to clean for the 2nd time (oh wow 2 times, must be so nice!) that he's tired of taking care of "everything" around the house for me, etc. (As if I sit on my sorry a** all day). Demanded to know when's the last time I cleaned anything?!?!!? WTF! I should have punched him in the F-ing jaw! Who the h*ll does this man think he's talking to?!?! I'm busy cleaning / scrubbing something at least every other day after the messes he leaves, shoe tracks he tracks in, crud he leaves rotting in the sink, shavings he leaves in the sink, mildew in the showers (he showers in the guest bath) he leaves behind, etc etc etc!!! HOW F-ing dare he talk to me like that!!! THis SOB!!!! I told him if I don't tell him what's going on, it will continue to fester inside and then one day he'll come home and i"ll be gone. His response, "Oh yeah, there you go with that again." He rolled his eyes threw his hands up and walked away. This man is a son of b*tch. I don't know how much longer I can hang in there. Everyone's always telling me, "You've married such a good man..." "You're so lucky." "Be patient and have grace." "You're still newly weds. THings will work out, you're both good poeple and you love each other."
Sorry for pouring this all out here.... I meant to just write a journal Ugh I'm so p*ssed!!
Leo, you're doing awesome under the circumstances! Keep your chin up, I know easier said than done but you're doing great.
Have a happy day everyone!! I'm in a hurry to make dinner and I know I missed a whole bunch of people but I'm popping in really late I just wanted to drop by and give some added support to Blue who seems to need it and to Leo who is having it really rough. Oh btw, Leo, I didn't realize there were still men that didn't know much about plumbing.... Hmmm.... Is it just women that know about plumbing??
