I've heard that weather changes can affect some people but I've never noticed if it affected me. But today I'm wondering if it did.
As you all probably know, I started gluten free over 2 weeks ago and am feeling better. Not as tired, a little more energy. But today was awful. I am so tired and I had no energy, just like before the diet. Ugh, I hate this feeling. Anyway, it occurred to me that maybe it was the weather. I live in Oregon and the weather can be unpredictable at times. Last week it was in the 70s but this week it's been in the 50s and 60s but pretty dry. Today felt colder because the wind was blowing and it rained a lot. I had to stand out in it to get my daughter from the bus. I'm in a bit more pain than usual but nothing major.
What are your thoughts? How are you affected by weather?

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Glad the diet is helping.
I don't know if you can or believe in it, but I have found that tanning somewhat helps when it's gloomy out.

The barometric pressure really affects me. It took my hubby and me YEARS to figure out that when I'm in so much pain I can barely walk, the barometric pressure is usually to blame.
Whenever a storm is approaching the area, the pain kicks in really bad. On top of the usual fibro pain, I get a feeling around my rib cage as if a steel band is constricting that area. The pain gets so severe that every movement hurts. And NOTHING stops that pain.
So, yes, the weather affects me.
Gentle hugs to all....hope u have a restful night.....Tina@>~~
END OF PAIN
I don't like the cool rain.
My body is full of pain.
Sometimes I think it's driving me insane.
I pray to God but it seems in vain.
My body is still filled with the pain.
Please God make it easier to bear.
Help me feel that other's do care.
In my suffering I feel so alone.
For all my sins I atone.
In your loving arms please hold me secure.
May one day the doctors find a cure.
My body they will tend.
The pain will come to an end.
Throughout my research I learned that changes in barometric pressure deplete serotonin. I also learned that fibromyalgia is possibly caused by low serotonin and neurotransmitters in the brain. If we already have low serotonin, other conditions can further deplete the serotonin making symptoms worst.
All of the following can further deplete serotonin: certain medications, rapid life style, stress, over work, chronic pain, rapid changes in hormone levels (pms, menopause, peri menopause), rapid changes in barometric pressure (weather), chemical sensitivities, rapid changes in blood sugar etc. This helped me to understand our plight with fibro better.
Dr. Kaslow states that: "For years it has been known in medicine that low levels of serotonin/ or Norepinephrine can cause many diseases and illnesses. Some of the diseases and/ or illnesses caused by or associated with low levels of Serotonin and or/ Norepinephrine include:"
. fibromyalgia
. depression/moody
. anxiety
.panic attacks
. insomnia/sleep disorders
. obesity
. hypoglycemia
. chronic pain states
. migraines
.restless leg syndrome
. add/adhd
.premenstrual tension
.anorexia
. bulimia
I found this to explain a great deal as to why we suffer.
