Good morning.
Language lesson
Weary: tired.
Wary: careful.
Leery: same as wary. Leery of snake oil salesmen, for example.
People are using weary for wary a lot lately. bugs me. I had relatives work hard to learn the language. Native speakers could at least try, y'know?
I am not doing well. Physically, it's jsut a mild flare, but the rest is bad, and Hubby won't even take the anti-anxiety stuff that would mean he sleeps that means I'd sleep.
So, in honor of weariness... I'm doing a cheat check-in and just posting a few links. Sorry.
Wildlife of Brazil THis is National Geographic, and all NatGeo specials are usually cool, IMO, but Brazil features a jaguar. Interesting note: Where cougars and jaguars co-exist, cougars tend to be smaller, due to the competition for food, tho' cougars are generally more adaptable over all in terms of terrain/climate. (Goodt hing.)
This one is Kamchatka, which is basically over in Siberia: Kamchatka wildlife
Also good way to entertain kids, btw, if they like animals. Huge playlists of Natgeo specials:-)

Well, our drought isn't broken but our gutter is. Got two big storms rigth after each other and, wait for it, a tornado warning. Now, I was already running for my go-bag when I heard thunder. The air felt wrong. The sky was getting a color to the west. Been there, lived that, time to hide.No funnel touched down but the radar indicated rotation, and boy was it visible from the ground. Different...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...
Miki - I hope your pain gets better and you sleep well tonight. When will that water heater be fixed?
Angela - I hope you are feeling better. Hugs.
Kel - You are so funny. I have problems with anxiety too - I hate it. I thought you were going to get someone to do the snow and ice for you.
Twin - Honey you need to slow down before you fall down. I know it is hard with young kids. I really wish your husband would help you more. Do you take an antacid? I take Prevacid. Sounds like you might have an ulcer or gastritis brewing in your tummy.
BBMom - sounds like you need a low key weekend.
Bobbi - I hope your pain improves. Do you use heat or ice? I hope you can take some time to rest and take care of you.
Blue - you did have a crazy day yesterday!!!! I am glad your husband is willing to go to counseling , I hope his attitude towards it improves.
Crumbs - High there. I hope you get your electricity fixed soon. I use to work long days too, as a nurse, before I became disabled, but at least it was only 3 days a week. Part time my butt.
Ida - I hope the house hunting and house selling goes well. Sounds like there is a lot of interest in your current house , so far you have had a lot of showings it seems.
Shout out to Fantod - I hope your recovery is going better.
I slept from 1130 pm to 230 am and was not able to get back to sleep - I really tried but pain and the hamsters in my head got in the way. Of course the dog has a vet appt at 4 pm today. My son goes with and will drive , otherwise I would of rescheduled it as she is not sick. I dont do well on that little sleep - I get bad headaches, overly emotional and a million other things. I have my mild meatless chili in the crockpot and already have the cornbread made , so dinner will be ready when we get home. Gotta get in the shower.
I'll be over for dinner too. I'll bring the wine! Well, it'll be beer, but we can call in wine!
Bbmom, hope your day goes quick! Good luck with your workout. I hope you start out slow. Last time I went back to the gym, I had to start out with baby steps. And it was on the Marine Corps base, too, so everyone around me was working out like maniacs... they made me feel horrible because all I could do was 5 mins here and there and still killed myself. Sheesh.
Water is back on, got a shower! My mom is talking about how much she really wants "someone" (yeah, someone being moi) to take her downtown to the mall so she could walk around, go to the art store, etc. But after all that craziness yesterday, I only feel like hiding in my room till it's time for our counseling appt. Did I tell you while cleaning up that mess in the truck, I even found rootbeer under and behind the seats? It got into places you just wouldn't think possible.
Leo, with all you have going on, it's so nice that you do check in anyway. I really appreciate it. I sure hope things settle down for you, post haste.
Miki, sorry you are in pain and don't have warm water. That is just awful.
Kel, you made me snicker with the boxers story. LK would be happy you have the boxers. Hope you have less pain soon.
Angela, my heart goes out to you for all you are going through. You will come through this.
Bobbi, you poor dear. You need a ton of rest. I pray you feel better soon.
Bbmom, funny boxers story from you too. Hope you can rest well this weekend. I would look funny in my hubby's briefs. LOL
Little gal is up. I will talk with you more later.
Milily, I do need to slow down, but how can I when I'm in this alone with 2 young girls. I may try the prevacid, but is seems like anti-acid meds always made me worse in the past, but I've never had an ulcer or gastritis so maybe that's why I can't figure this one out. Thanks!!
I haven't seen a GI doc for this, but have seen one lots in the past. I've had every test and probe possible to mankind. I feel so lucky.
I hope everyone gets good rest tonight.
Luckily, we didnt have to wait at the Vet office. Usually we wait a long , long, long, long, time everytime. We were back home in 45 minutes and it is a 15 minute drive one way. I couldnt be more pleased, well except for the money I spent.
Twin - could you take a leave of absence or temporary short term disability from your job ? I worry about you. I wished I lived close by , so I could at the very least give you a break sometimes. I would put you in a room with a TV and a couch and a heating pad ( if I remember correctly you dont like beds) and close the door and not let anyone bother you for however long you wanted, so you could have some down time. : )
