Well, our drought isn't broken but our gutter is. Got two big storms rigth after each other and, wait for it, a tornado warning.
Now, I was already running for my go-bag when I heard thunder. The air felt wrong. The sky was getting a color to the west. Been there, lived that, time to hide.
No funnel touched down but the radar indicated rotation, and boy was it visible from the ground. Different levels of wind were moving in different directions ---- never good --- and I bailed into the basement laundry room, as it's well protected.
Hubby wouldn't move his ass. I was ready to strangle him. We got over an inch of rain in an hour, lightning strikes close enough forhair to stand on end, and he's like, "La la la." The warning was out. La la la. I was so upset I forgot part of my go-bag kit.
All's well that ends well, but dang, we got SOAKED. Almost an inch in 70 minutes of rain. I need to find a way to fix the damn gutter again.
I rant this here to warn people:
TAKE THE DANG WARNING SERIOUSLY. Just because yoou think it's passed over or it isn't close? Nature don't care. She takes right turns when you think she's going straight.

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

Since I got home, Haco has been hunkered down behind the couch, except for the few minutes after I pulled him out to give him buprenex this morning. He's eating better though, as long as I bring food to him, so I wonder if he's a bit dysphoric from the buprenex...Basically he's having a bad trip. Or he's freaking out because I dragged him to work *again*. I'm doing my best to just leave him alone, which goes against my instinct that wants to check on him every 2 minutes, but I know that me hovering is NOT going to help. When I checked on him before getting on here, he was rolling and purring-which is much more normal behavior for him- so I suspect he'll come out on his own soon. Until then, unless I need to give him meds to help him feel better, dragging him out of his safe place is more harmful than helpful. By tomorrow morning, the antibiotics will probably have kicked in enough to help him feel better and things will be easier from there. Or I'll be kicking myself because he's back to getting into *everything*...
I'm still feeling exhausted, even though I slept in. My body hurts like I worked out more recently than Tuesday. I'll probably suck it up and run tomorrow, even if it's a shorter run. The overwhelming urge to go to sleep is starting to hit me, so I assume I'll be fairly lazy for the rest of the day. I already went to the dump and the grocery store, and I'm gonna walk Miki again in a few minutes before it gets hot. Right now it's really nice, actually
