Spouse and I are in holding pattern. I hold that I'm too tired to get upset and deal with it, and he holds that he's "not where he wants to be in life". That's nice. Who is? I mean, c'mon. What I imagined when I was 20 isn't where I am now, so what? Dreams change, lives change, things change, roll with it or get rolled over (bad translation of a saying my grandfather used). It's not *easy*, but it's how you keep going without flipping the heck out and... I dunno...

So on this date in history (again)
In 1881, in David H. Houston patented the first camera roll of film. This sounds small, but before that, it was plates and such, ratehr like we see in X-rays up until about 10 years ago. Film on a roll? Oh, that made life easier.
In 1890, the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in Washington DC. If you are descended, provably so, from a Revolutionary War soldier, then you get to belong. Some use it for social cachet. Eh. I can prove it, but why belong? Tea and cookies aren't my speed, and sneering down at others for their "newness" of ancestry is just silly to me, soooo.... That's what it was back home, anyway. Meh.
In 1983, the last hand-cranked telephones went out of service in the US, when the 440 people of Bryant Pond, Maine, switched to direct-dial. Yep, hand-cranked.

Leo, is he going through a midlife crisis or something? Tsk tsk tsk. I read somewhere that what we women go through with menopause, men go through something similar but it's called andropause. And the resulting side effects are known as the common midlife crisis. Hm..... what's the remedy for it? Do they just have to hunker down and get through it till it's over like we women do with menopause?? *gulp* Sending you cargo ship loads of chocolate!!
Welp, I think I overdid it in PT yesterday. He had me try a few new things and I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep last night because I was too tired and too sore. It was one of those no matter which way I lay it hurt kinda nights. Plus, an IBS flare started about 11 pm of all times.
My older brother called late afternoon and had a good venting session about the troubles in his marriage. Told me he's thinking about divorcing his wife. So that was on my mind too. I couldn't help thinking about how between my siblings and I who are married, all 3 have turbulent relationships.
I have PTSD therapy today. Also some cleaning and food prep for Sat. I have 3 appts tomorrow. I hope I survive the day!

Kel, it really has been one thing after another for you. I pray your flare goes away and the pain is more manageable again. I'm also praying for your sisters mental and physical health. I wish it was easier to snap somebody out of that deep dark depression. It's so sad.
Susan, I'm so glad you're getting a day off from work and exploring some new places. Enjoy your day, and rest when you need it.
Blue, I hope PTSD goes good and your husband is extra nice to you when you get home. Tomorrow sounds like a rough day for even the normal folk. I'll be thinking about you.
Fantod, Hopefully the rain clears soon and you get back out. How are you feeling w/o any meds for the inflammation? Your surgery is approaching fast, I'll be praying.

It's cold today and drizzly. I'm aching. I have to leave at 5:15 to pick up hubby from the airport. You all know how I love that. But it will be good to see him. The SUV is still not fixed, so I have to take the truck.

PTSD therapy was... yikes. I had planned to just go in there, sit down and give an update but ended up ranting like a loud gong about everything. Sigh. That poor man. Plus, I realized when I got there that I forgot to take my morning meds and it was already lunch time. Oy, me!
