I'm at a hotel. The idiot I married wouldn't use drain clenaer, so we had a massive clog in our all-dog-leg shower drains, and we had to call the plumber, and he used his machine, and then the sewage pipe from the toilets cracked (he claims he didn't do it) and leaked into the ceiling of our living room and on my arts-and-crafts table, and I had to move a bunch of furniture out of the room entirely and lay down tarps and bins to catch and trap the eventual collapse of that section of our ceiling and they can't start repairs till Monday afternoon.
We're at a hotel. I hate this.
We don't have money to pay for this. Hubby will call homeowners insurance (thank you to those who reminded me that exists!) and we'll have to ask his parents for help. Since they just doled out 20 grand to pay for the addition onto their other son's house, they can effing well help us out with the plumbing.
I have to go. Just know I am grateful to all of you for your support and please don't think I'm making this up, okay? This is just... That pipe may be original to the house (fifty years old) but it was FINE before the plumber and having him say "Oh I guess it was already cracked" just... The pictures on the walls were vibrating, that's how bad his machien was.... Shit.
Literally.
Much love,
Leo

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Your risk of death or serious complications beyond "ow, that shot hurt!" are typically...

Today (August 8) is INternational Cat Day. Don't click away! International DOG day is August 26! Both were created to raise aweareness and funds for the well-being of critters. We have many such dayts, to the pint that every day is like an old Catholic saints' day calendar: Take your pick!I'm home, obvs, and still ill. Left calf and foot not great after a tangle-fall, but i'll live. Just can't...
Hi CG. Hope your day is starting out well.
Sorry Bear, that you are having Ida-itis, when it comes to sleeping in the recliner. I hope that doesn't last.
We made it home. I am pretty tuckered out...more so than the pain. It was good to be back in the recliner. Today is the minor surgery on my eyelid. Removing a lump. I wonder if they will come at me with some kind of needle to the eye. Yikes!
Next week, I'm babysitting for son for 2 days. I can handle that. I really need a week just for me.
Talk to ya later....
When it rains it pours! All we need is more stress in our lives! I'll be sending you all the positive vibes that I can muster.
CG,
Hoping you have a good day there.
idaJoy,
Glad to hear you made it back in one piece. Good luck with your eyelid surgery!
Ida, I'm glad you made it home, sorry you had to travel through Chicago traffic. Rest, you really need it.
Hi Countrygal, TGIF, I hope your day is great.
Kel, it's great to see you check in. I hope you get more rest and you can reduce your triple flare.
I had Addison's school meeting yesterday, it did not go well. They want to test her and do their own evaluation before approving an IEP. My aunt was with me, she taught special Ed in Norman Oklahoma and knows a lot about IEPs. She said we could take them to court. She is looking up some State rules to see if things have changed, b/c they aren't doing it right. I pray she can help us get this IEP. She was not impressed with the school. Then I had a bad day at work, I'm still behind. I'm in a ton of pain today. I had to go by 2 health food stores this morning before work and I'm done for the day. I don't want to move.
TGIF
Leo - I am really so sorry that you are having all of these problems. I hope that your homeowners insurance will be helpful. I hope that your inlaws will help you guys handle this problem without a fuss. Having to ask for help is hard but sometimes it just can't be helped. This is one of those situations. In the meantime, try to relax and enjoy not having to do housework etc. This is one of those try to make of the best of it occasions.
Morning CountryGal - I hope that your day is comfortable!
Hi Ida - Glad that you guys made it home safely. Hoping that your eye procedure is over before you realize what's going on. Rest up this weekend!
Hi Kel - I hope that you are less sore today! Have a good day!
TwinMom - I missed you yesterday! I'm sorry that Addison's school is being difficult and that the IEP meeting did not go well. Being behind at work is not helping anything either. I hope that you can get through today OK. Did you like the new therapist? Hang in there! Hugs!
Time to start laundry and consider steam mopping some floors. Truthfully, I'd rather stick a hot poker in my eye than do pretty much anything today. Eventually, common sense will prevail... I hope that everyone has a low pain day. TGIF!
Take care everyone. It sounds like we are off to a rough start of the day.
Wow, everyone is going through so much! I will be praying!
Leo, OMG! You're freaking kidding me! Can you put a claim in with the plumbing company for damages? Well, the fleas will hopefully vacate now that place smells like sewage. Hey, if you start a go fund me page, I'm sure we'll pitch in, too! I can't believe this is happening to you. Well, if you're now up for coming out here for a break while they fumigate and do repairs, my place is open to you! :)
Ida, hope the eye lump removal goes well! Healing hugs
Twin, I can't believe the uphill battle you continue to face for Addison. It must be draining. I pray the school pulls their head out of their butt and does right by her. Oh wow, a therapy cat and dog sits there with you during sessions?? That's so awesome! I would love a therapist like that! Oh, I want to find one, too! I'm so glad this new one sounds more hopeful and positive for you.
Fantod, positive support for your MRI and knee related things ahead...
BBmom, I can't believe you lifted a generator. I hope the pain subsides soon! I'm glad someone helped you back in and park. Sending positive vibes for the races!
Kel, happy weekend to you! Hope you'll be pacing yourself ;)
Hello there, CountryGal.
I felt my heart pounding in my chest on and off yesterday. Anxiety? I stopped at the grocery store after my PTSD appt and the parking lot was packed to the brim with a line of cars going out to the street (as usual), but all the handicapped stalls were open. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my placard! I suspected my husband accidentally drove mine to work w/ him. I had to drive down the street and park in the next lot (paid parking) which was half a block down. I ended up carrying my cloth grocery bags one slung on my throbbing shoulder, back to the car because they only let you take the carts so far. This placard thing has happened way too many times. I need to stop by the DMV and see if they can make a double for me so I can have one in each car.
When I got home I threw a squash in the oven and made myself a grilled pickle & cheese sandwich. Hubby came home not long after and we got into a big fight about a little pile of dishes plus he wouldn't help me put the food away after we ate. The landlady needs to hurry up and get the dishwasher fixed, I'm tired of big eruptions starting over a few pieces of dishes because I"m in pain and he says he's tired from his day of work. This has got to stop.
Depression again....
And the tinitis (ringing in the ears) has been bugging me lately but last night especially. I normally like to sleep with ear plugs, but when I put them in, I couldn't handle the ringing and decided to sleep w/o them. Of course hubby came back to bed in the middle of the night and startled me and that was that. No falling back asleep. There were a few times I thought I was dozing off, but he was tossing & turning and startled me awake again (shoulder pain didn't help either).
I know this stuff is nothing like what you folks are going through. Sorry.
I have an appt in mental health today at 2 pm. That's all it says in my calendar. I don't know if it's for the social worker or the new PTSD therapist I wanted to check out. Also, I was given a number to someone at the VA who can get veterans modifications to their homes: ramps, railings, even a moving bed? I will call him shortly and see if I can get an appt w/ him today since i"ll be there anyway. I will let him know I have frequent fallings.
Prayers and blessings....
CountryGal: Hello and nice to see you pop into the check in. :)
Idajoy: Good luck today with the eyelid procedure! I'd also be wondering where they want to stick their needles. I hope you'll get all the rest you need so babysitting won't be too rough on you.
Mnfibro: I hope you're doing okay and that Friday is treating you well. Have a nice weekend!
Twinmom: Support for children with non-normative needs in schools is woefully inadequate. I really hope you guys will be able to work things out. And a therapist that has you leaving feeling better than when you came is certainly a great start! I'm happy for you for that :)
Fantod: Best of luck with the MRI! Will you have to be entirely in that blasted tube? My claustrophobia shudders. I hope you're having a good Friday and that you got the things done that you were aiming to do.
Blue: Now now *wags finger* what's this I see about you saying your problems are somehow less? No one is keeping tally in a ledger here to judge when you're in "enough" misery to talk about here. Sorry you're having a tough time. I can really see how tinnitus would get frustrating when in a quiet room to sleep. I hope the modifications people can be of some use. Take care!
I started writing a paragraph about some behaviours of my mothers that make me want to strangle that woman. But when I start on that topic, there's not really a stopping point, because I want to be clear on the whole picture of why five minutes on the phone with her once a week is far too much for my tastes. Summary: bla bla mommy issues bla bla father issues too, I guess bla bla but damn do I have issues with that woman. *snarls*
Good day to all.
Leo I am sorry to hear about your plumbing :( You did not need that on top of fleas!
Twin I know sorta what your going thru my mom went thru it with my brother (extreme ADHD) and some with me (dyslexic) and she lost with me and also she had to fight the school almost every week i was bullied so bad and to the extreme of death threats in high school and i was being bullied by the band teacher i ended up leaving my favorite class because of her. Teachers Did NOT want to read tests to me because i would fail if i did written ones and ace oral ones, one teacher even read it to me in front of the class and made comments how i must be stupid and just want attention (to the whole class) they were suppose to give me written ones in class and oral after school or during study hall etc. Ended up being my english teacher (the one i have lunch with and stay in contact with still) Would read me in her free time tests for every class. She got me thru school i tried to drop out but her and the principal said they would be fired before letting me drop out.
Blue, I have railings in my bathroom, a shower chair, i use a cane, i am on oxygen at night, and i am suppose to be getting railings for my bed plus have my parking pass (i keep it in my purse so its always on me) It all helps so much so let them help as much as they can :)
I had the worst night i remember having, i dont even know if i even dozed off once. The pain is so severe. I am still so sick but slightly better today im drinking coffee and yesterday i didnt even want it and i have to be dying to not want coffee LOL My back and legs keep spasming and cramping so bad and not stopping the flexeril is doing nothing at all and the oxy isnt either. I am taking tylenol severe cold which is helping those symptoms. I am so drained and every ounce of my body hurts horribly. Its my moms birthday but no way can i go out for fish with them tonight I dont want to make people sick and im in too much pain to go anywhere. Mom is stopping by in about an hour with pumpkin for me, and we will sit on the porch so i dont make her sick. I already have her her card, necklace and Thirty one back pack i got her. I am tired of looking for pumpkin coffee creamer, noone seems to have it! So i am going to make my own i just hope it turns out good im sure its much better for me than the store bought! I LOVE pumpkin flavored stuff! (just not the cereals or poptarts and stuff yuck) Its my favorite pie and coffee creamer ! I can already smell and taste it LOL
TwinMom - I'm really, really glad that you liked the new therapist. She sounds great and you need a calm, relaxing environment (with animal friends no less). I'm so happy for you!
Blue - I have a permanent handicap placard but when my plate renews in a couple of months, I'm going to get a disabled license plate. I can still keep the placard too. In Michigan, you can't have two placards (stupid DMV). Why they will let you do the other option but not two placards is beyond me. I'm sorry that you had to haul groceries and that Hubby is being an ass about doing dishes. Don't apologize for your troubles. We are all in this together and offer support no matter the issue.
Sonya - Nice to see you here again today! I hope that your stomach troubles are not too bad. My Mom can make me pretty crazy at times. I try to remember that she is 89 but it can be really hard. She pushes my buttons on a pretty regular basis. Hugs!
AngelaJo - I am sorry that you are so miserable today. This must be a doozy of a cold. I hope that your pumpkin coffee creamer turns out to be really yummy. I've been thinking about making a pumpkin pie for the last week or so. Rest up and feel better!
Somehow or another we all manage to keep it all together! Remember that! Group hug!
Sonya, thank you! I love your shorter version of complaining about your mom. LOL. I know how you feel. Hugs
Angela, I'm so sorry about your school issues. There is no reason for that. I simply am stunned and I cant' believe what you had to endure in school. big hugs to you! It will be over my dead body before my daughter has to go through anything like that. My neighbor suggested searching for an autism advocate. She did that for her son when they denied him an IEP for ADHD, and they sent her a lawyer for free and she won. I pray it doesn't come to that, but I will do anything. I really hope your pain decreases. I seem to be staying in a lot of pain these days with no relief. Rest doesn't even help. Good luck!
Fantod, thank you! And group hug to all!
Twin, my friends son is autistic and ADHD she got a lawyer thru some place free too and he is now getting the help he needs, hes 9 and a sweet sweet boy as long as people dont mess around with his schedule, he does not like change that hes not aware of ahead of time he gets so upset. My mom wanted to home school me but because she didn't have a degree at the time she couldn't, now days you can do it all online! Praying your daughter gets the help she needs! Sat on the porch with mom and abby for about an hour, at least i got to see mom on her bday but i will not go in a restaurant sick, and i am having a mild IBS flare so fish fry is out! I hardly ever eat fried food anyways. I dont miss it either i usually get baked fish. But even that has a lot of butter it seems at restaurants! I am happy just staying home with abby and my coffee LOL Making turkey dressing casserole for dinner. So yummy! Wearing a hoodie today and yesterday had the a/c on, the trees are changing, enjoyed sitting outside with no kids around so many kids it seems in low income housing, but hey they are nice apartments and they have a roof over their heads! My neighbor above me hates that she cant give more to her boys, i said they are happy right? she said yes i said they are fed and warm she said yes, i said your doing great! Money doenst matter never did to me as a kid, we didnt have much my mom was a single mom when we were young and then when her and dad got married yes we had 80 acres then and a brand new house, but not much money it all went into the farm and house and you know what? My greatest memories are not that of money, its spending time outdoors with the farm animals, spending time with mom and dad and my brother and friends, being a kid! I loved going to rummage sales with mom, i loved the toys i found and they were the same things my friends parents paid 25 to 50 dollars or more for and my mom only had to pay maybe 5 to 10!! I didnt care if it wasent brand new! I thought it was cool! I still love bargains! I may not have much money now either, but i am warm, i have coffee!!!!!!! and me and my dog are fed and shes happy and i am too right now!
