I read that a recent study said Tai Chi was good for people with fibromyalgia. We are struggling to find some sort of exercise for my 11 year old son that isn't too stressful but keeps him active.
Does anyone do Tai Chi and if so, do you have a video you recommend? Thanks,
Ty

I took it for a few sessions and it helped with balance and flexibility. I suggest you take a class rather than a video. Community ed. classes are cheap. I am told it can take a long time to see long term benefits but it was relaxing. Take it with your son it would be good bonding. I never saw too many kids there. I just wasn't too hit in the head with the "centering your energy" talk. Not sure I believe all that. Good luck!

Qi Gong (also known as Chi Gong) might be a more doable option at home. Tai Chi can be challenging to learn without some in person instruction. Qi Gong is also recommended for FMS. Take care.

I take Tai Chi one day a week and Pilates one day a week. I find Tai Chi helped me more than anything. I have never been into the "centering your energy" talks either but I have really come to enjoy all of the Tai Chi.
