Hi everyone!
Pardon the cross-post; I have been diagnosed with fibro and CFS, and I wasn't sure which place to go to for advice.
I guess my question is twofold. One, do you guys also have loooong recoveries from injuries, especially anything pain-related? For example, I overdid it with my right shoulder over a year ago and it still bothers me frequently. Sometimes I feel like any time I get a new pain, it just never goes away, although that's not actually true; it just seems that way.
The second part of my question is have any of you gotten tattoos since getting fibro, and did you notice unnaturally lingering pain after? I have three tattoos currently, and I would really like to get another one that would help me emotionally deal with this stupid disease (my therapist also agrees it would be therapeutic, although that's a little beside the point ;)). Other than having to save up money for it (which is always tight, as I'm sure you guys understand) my only concern would be that the tattoo would create another lingering pain that wouldn't go away.
Obviously I know they don't feel pleasant to get from my past ones, but I know I can handle that pain. I just don't want to create ANOTHER chronic pain to deal with, when it's supposed to be something healing for me!
Any thoughts? Thanks very much!!
Sarah

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

For instance, fibromyalgia pain is tender points upon initial movement into a different position. The traveling pain can be fibromyalgia or it can be related to muscle ache, joint ache, and/or combination of any.
Then, knowing your level of pain has changed, increased, sensitized, and otherwise created a specific cycle, you can minimize the switch button part by knowing which movements flow your motion instead of jerking the motion (which adds significantly to the resting pain level).
Hope this helps, as it can be a fast recovery or it can add a travel pattern. Best wishes.
Also the spot where you want the tattoo, is it on a sensitive spot? I would put the tat on a place that doesnt hurt already.
Ive gotten atleast 3 tats since my dx, did not have any issues. I also have more "padding" on my body than most so its just a skin pain, not deep into the muscle. So is the spot you want to have the tat, more "padded"? lol
For me, I would avoid any tats on my back or shoulders cuz thats where I keep most of my pain.
Hope this helps some.
