Seems like I can tolerate less and less medicine the doctors prescribe. I've been taking prilosec for over 5 years and it started making me dizzy with head aches so switched over to zantac and it's making it hard to breathe. I'm having horrible acid rebound from the years of taking the prilosec. My rheumatologist has yet to find something for my RA that I can tolerate and the last antibiotic I took made me break out with a rash. Is it me or does Fibro make you sensitive to medicine?

Been this way since 2004.
The acid reflux, and the associated side effects are affecting you, and removing them brought the original symptoms back to the surface.
Depending on what happens, you can find a natural solution to help reduce the impact of the acid reflux.
When you have fibromyalgia, it is easy to put it all on the fibromyalgia.
However, anxiety will bring on a number of similar symptoms and use different treatment to reduce, and myofascial pain syndrome can also happen.
As far as sensitivity goes, knowing you are sensitive is a huge difference in helping you find a method to decrease the effect of anxiety on the sensitivity.
Having a RA with this makes the party even more interesting.
I use a daily journal to help me keep track of what works, what gets better or worse, and what I am doing.
Hope you feel better.
I am sensitive to medicine, and knowing now that I have fibromyalgia has reduced the anxiety to the sensitivity and allowed me to relax and give it a chance.
I still don't know if it was an allergic reaction or an interaction. I've taken Mobic without any problems and its in the same class of drug I think.
When we have side effects they seem to be more severe compared to normal people.
Makes it really hard to know what is doing what sometimes.
And when I do not respond to a med like a doctor thinks I should, almost invariably he acts like I am the only one...grrr
I saw a new doctor yesterday for the first time, and he told me I wasn't taking enough Lyrica - that I was WAY below the therapeutic dose and that's why it wasn't work. I take 25-50 mgs. So I came home and took a second dose of 50mg (mind you, this was six or seven hours after the first does) and spent the entire evening having visual hallucinations. Everything appeared as though I were looking through a mirage, or a heat haze. It frightened me, as I've already had some serious eye problems as a result of medications over the years, and I'm terrified of losing my sight. As bad as it is, it's the only thing I've got left that allows me to hold down any kind of paying job. At 100mg of Lyrica for the day, I think I'm still under the recommended dose - and after last night I don't think I'll be trying to increase it!
I flew to the moon, made friends with the fairies and walked on water with the drug tramadol! It was fun for a while but a bit scary and I missed my family........yep super sensitive to many drugs too and my doc says its quite a commom symptom of fibro.....so you are not alone my friend. The solution for me came with smaller but more regular doses of painkillers and give your body time to adjust, try not to panic with your initial reactions... unless you go flying of course!
Good luck and huggles from England. x
