At the local fibro support group today a we had a representative from a company present on the benefits of magnets. Me? I don't believe it and I abhor the pseudoscience, "natural and all that" that goes along with those products. (Natural will just as easily kill you as help you. There are a zillion substances that are natural and toxic.)
BUT, my left upper back hurt and the lady put a small magnet on it and it immediately felt better. Then, I must admit that I sleep on a pad that has magnets. I bought it because it is wool and bought it in spite of the magnets. But still, could it be that this is one of the reasons I am doing so well?
Again, I don't believe it and I am not recommending it, but does anyone have any experience or knowledge to share?

Another day, another ouchie? My bruised achilles tendon (don't ask) makes my foot numb. Wonky on meds, whacked it.Now, as to fibro:A lot of reports are going around some parts of social media that fibro (and dang near anything else) are caused by post-Covid, post-flu, post-vaccinations, post-pick-something.1. Maybe it's a mind over matter,
If you get cured we will be walking around in a magnet suit of armor,
My mother who is 87 swears by magnets and so do many of her friends. They are all advocates of a healthy lifestyle and generally pretty skeptical about just about everything. One thing that they all agree on is the use of magnets. I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss this as a bunch of hooey. Take care.
While I don't know the exact mechanisms involved, I think it would have helped to improve my sleep over time. I just cannot afford the system at the moment, but would love to have it one day.
About 2 hrs later I got up and walked to the kitchen to get a cuppa. Halfway there I stopped and realised, 'wow, I'm not in pain, I'm not limping, my legs are working!'. It really was noticeably different in the pain levels.
I bought a magnetic neck wrap, back flex and a blanket, all of which now form part of my usual comfort/management routine. It lowers the pain, for me, by about 30% all up on a *bad* day.
I'm not sure how the jewellery works, if the magnets aren't on the area that's hurting.. And, I think there's supposed to be some sort of difference in the quality / type / location of the magnets. The stuff I use actually is made from some sort of woven magnetised threads or something. I don't pretend to understand, I don't really care how it works, it just gives me some pain relief! Yay for that!!
Hope you all find those little bits and pieces that make your days a bit more comfortable *hugs*
The point is that it helps:-) We need all of that we can get.
I did not know there was magnetic mattress pads!
I need to get one pronto!
i learn so much from this group! :)
I just added a magnetic pad to the pillow that I normally use while watching TV and napping in the family room. After a week of use, I do feel less achey in my upper quandrant.
For any newbies interested in magnets, the gauss of the magnet is very important. It has to be at least 800 gauss to be effective. Take care.
Unless I do something stupid, which I have done, like trying "just" 10 minutes on the stair master, and wreck my lower back, it's my upper back that tends to hurt..... Shoulders. So, is it possible that my upper back would be better if I didn't use a pillow that might be "blocking" the magnets from my mattress pad?
I still SO don't believe it, but I will try anything that is not likely to hurt. At least, if it works, I can assume it's not placebo.
