Hi everyone. I wanted to give an update on my memory loss. I had a cat scan done on my head and everything looked good.

I am thinking to myself then the only thing it can be is the Lycria. This is the only medicine I have taken new this year.

Lycria gave me back my life and now it has taken my mind. I tried to back off myself this entire week. I decreased the dosage and then I stopped.

Jesus Christ!! I got in such a bad state that I had to start it back. Headaches, depression, upset stomach, light headed, and other emotions and feelings I can't describe. My doctor had a stroke this week and I didn't have any choice but to start it back.

People this is some scary stuff. I am so upset. I took prozac one time and I quit it cold turkey and it did not effect me this way. I started the Lycria back two days ago and now I have leveled off.

Just wanted to share my feelings with some of you that have taken this devil drug. Thanks for listening and have a wonderful Sunday. Peggy

Am on lyrica and havent noticed any change tho do admit that between the fibro and the tumor my memory was gone along time ago. Sorry this has happened to you. Have learned the hard way that coming off these meds no matter if its the lyrica or one of the other 14 ones I am on is a dangerous thing

I had alot of cloudiness when i was on the lyrica. but i think as time has gone my head has become more clouded even without the lyrica..

remember you have to do what is best for you .. as the pain gets worse we learn to live with a little bit of loss somewhere else..:) **hugs**

I'm currently being weaned off Lyrica over a 4 week period. Since it wasn't working much (that I could tell) for the Fibro pain, my pain level hasn't gone up and my memory problems began before I started the Lyrica. Glad to her the CT Scan came back normal though. That has to be a relief.

I was on Lyrica since 2014 building up to a dosage of 300mg each night and recently tried weaning off ..... in fact .... counting on GOD ...... actually was told in 2014 that it was not addictive that was why I changed from Lexapro to Lyrica ......

I'm on Lyrica for about 6 months now, was on it before. No noted problems, but initial increase in fatigue. Guess that's gone now, really hard to tell. It sounds to me like a type of allergy to this drug. I have a huge list of drug allergies, including (funny) Prozac. Some "allergic" symptoms include an urge for extreme violence or a myriad of physical and psychological disturbances. I KNOW there are not many drug alternatives out there, but if the med you're taking is making it worse for you in any way, get a doctor to help you change it. And oh yea, I've gone cold turkey off a lot of meds too, and in the long run it's rea;;y hard or body and mind. Sometimes I wish I could just check into looney bin for awhile and detox off of everything, just to see what I'm like (body and soul) without it all. Peace to you! I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been using Nexium for my fibro bowels and the side effects are horrible. Including a 90% increase in Alzheimers. Thats right 90%. I have been using Ginkgo, according to a University of Utah medical center report it can greatly improve memory and fog relief . It works for me.

I have taken lyrica for 5 years, and it worked fairly well, esp. for burning nerve pain in my back, but it has lost it's efficacy. I must take other drugs to bump up the pain relief. I tried to get o ff of it 6 times, just this summer since my ins. stopped covering it. I thought I was going to die. It is the worst drug to try to get off of, I feel like I'm stuck with it. Fibrohyg

It IS hard to get off of, I only took it a month (in 2008) and weaning off was HORRIBLE. I had to stop taking because I gained a lot of weight in that one month time and my hand and feet swelled, but also the stuff quit working on my pain, had to double the dosage and that's when the side effects happened and had to wean off per dr instructions. I remember the Lyrica-withdrawal headache being one of the worst symptoms.

When weaning off medication such as this, minimum weaning time is one week. Depending on the amount you're taking, that means one week to reduce one dosage level. I've not been on this, however, a friend was, and their weaning schedule was done one dosage at a time for a week. Cold turkey is not recommended for the level of side effects often spikes in waves (that's how this person described the weaning off). Best wishes for a safe weaning off.

    I did the dumbest thing today.  I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds.  I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym.  What a dummy!

    Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job.  It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it.  Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown.  There was a full length mirror in the changing room.  I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like.  It was a reality check.
