I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia earlier this month (May) and it really sucks. I have been in so much pain. It is so stressful dealing with another health problem for me. I hope these new meds work because this is really annoying and hard to deal with.

Well..my thyroid might be a problem. I have a high TSH but normal T4. TSH increases when your thyroid isn't producing enough thyroid hormones...if only the TSH is high, it could be early or subclinical. We recommend the book "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" to all of our newbies. It will give you a good overview of this complex illness and a lot of ways to try and manage it. It is also a good educational tool for family members and friends. You can find it on Amazon.

When starting new medication, allow a minimum of 30 days to notice a change in your symptoms. A key point to remember is that the longer a chronic pain cycle continues, the harder it becomes to manage or stop. It takes time and a lot of tinkering to figure out the right dosage and combination of meds that work for each Fibromyalgia patient. Take care.
