I did something I've never done before.... and reached out to my pastor. Told him about a few of the health problems lately and asked if there's anyone who could accompany me to my doctor's appointment today. My husband was orginally supposed to come but he got called into work due to them being short handed. I've been dealing with abdomenal pain and discomfort for a few months and a CT scan was done a month ago that showed my kidneys full of cysts and scarring, as well as a possible ovarian cyst. I was then referred to the women's clinic who scheduled a pelvic ultrasound today. I really don't feel like going alone, not just because I'm nervous but also because I'm exhausted. I don't like telling anyone about my health problems, don't like discussing it with them, because they have too many questions and it's exhausting trying to explain to someone an invisible illness that affects your whole body, especially if you have other overlapping conditions. They tend to give you that look like you're some kind of hypochondriac. I was hesitant to call anyone, but mustered up the courage to do it. The pastor called me back and told me there's a lady who is willing to come with me.
**She just called me and said she'll come meet me and we'll go together. I'm so, so glad.

Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

I generally don't talk about my condition with many people for the same reasons you gave. They just don't get it.
The appointment would have been so depressing without her.
