My dad has been sick and finally agreed to go to the hospital Monday. When my nephew and I left the hospital, my car was jumping all over the place and running rough. (An easy fix, but not cheap.) Today I found out my dad has stomach cancer and it has spread to other areas.

I am his main caregiver, my sister has refused to have contact with him for over a year. And she lives two blocks away.

i have been numb for a couple of days, but I can feel the fibro flare starting, with cramps in my hips and legs.

I am sitting here with my cats, crying. And I am alone. And I need a hug.

I have read all of your replies and as most said if we could we would be there in a flash holding unto your hand letting you cry on our shoulder, giving you those much needed gentil hugs and listening to you tell us about all those childhood memories that have made your Father and you the people you have become today strong, faithful, caring and giving.When I am afraid over a family member I try to hold onto the little things that person has done thru my life I remember the fannal nightgowns my grandmother made for us each Christmas she always put pocket on mine, just mine....Look into your fathers eyes with love and remember those little things he did for you that still out a smile on your face...give him all the love you can and focus on him not how others react to the situation.

Sandy, my heart aches for you sweetie. I have had those kind of days. I am so sorry about your dad. my mom died of cancer when i was four. if you ever need to talk message me and i will give you my emai.

SueBee, thinking of your grandmom making yours with a pocket reminds me of my dd; she's 17 and craves pockets. I had to search and end up getting a small man's pajama pants for her because it's the only kind with pockets. she's teeny, so they're kinda big, but the first thing she checked for was if there were pockets and she was SO happy. :-) It's the little things....

Thank you everyone SO much for your support. This kind of response is unprecedented in my life and I truely appreciate your hugs, prayers, and kindness.

I learned today that dad's cancer metastasized and is inoperable, and they cannot do radiation or chemo because of his age. The tumor has closed his esophagus so they are putting in a stent to open it so he can eat. I just talked to him and he said, hold on, I gotta puke. God bless him.

I am avoiding dealing with the eminent loss by searching for herbal remedies, and have found some he is willing to try. At least I will know I did more than the doctors did.

Thanks, again, everyone. I will get to all your hugs and messages when I get some rest and free time.
