My dad has been sick and finally agreed to go to the hospital Monday. When my nephew and I left the hospital, my car was jumping all over the place and running rough. (An easy fix, but not cheap.) Today I found out my dad has stomach cancer and it has spread to other areas.

I am his main caregiver, my sister has refused to have contact with him for over a year. And she lives two blocks away.

i have been numb for a couple of days, but I can feel the fibro flare starting, with cramps in my hips and legs.

I am sitting here with my cats, crying. And I am alone. And I need a hug.

I too am sorry to hear about your Dad. I have been there and done that. I lost my Mom and Dad to cancer.

I am sorry. I lost my mother to cancer, seems its just part of life anymore or heart problems
When you go visit him, hold his hand, talk about good memories, talk about the good things in life now.
Hopefully hospice will be right there. They were so helpful when my mom was home. They took such good care of her. When they are there with your dad be sure to leave the house, take a break, go for a walk, go out and eat, get your mind off the entire situation,.

sandyclause,I so wish that I could give you a real hug rather than a cyber hug.I have lost many family members to Cancer.The diagnosis is always a shock.I cared for my husband at home for 3 years,untill he finally lost the battle.It drains you physically and emotionally.It was after his death that I was diagnosed with Fibro.I am sure the stress played a big part.It is so very difficult to see those that we love suffer.Yes, many times you do feel so alone.I hope that you have someone to support you,if your sister is unwilling.It is too much for 1 person to deal with.Please know that you and your father will be in my prayers.Best wishes,and please know that we are never really alone.

extra hugs & kiss's you are his caregiver=i know it will be hard for you but then there will be the peaceyou will have knowing you gave him everything you could @ the end of his life! will had you & him to my nightly candle lighting & prayers & when i do my YOGA & medition i will remember you in my intentions! oxo paula

It sure sounds like you are truly going through a difficult time. I think it is incredible of you to be there to take care of your father in his time of need. I am a FIRM believer of charma. With that said, you will be blessed with wonderful times which will create BEAUTIFUL memories! I wish you all of the best to you and yours honey!

I am so sorry to hear about your dad's illness. I am sending a big but gently hug your way.
Is it possible that your sister might be able to do things for you while you care for your dad even thought she does not want contact with him?
