We're home! This time the pest control laid it on so thick the floors are *oiled*. (We have no carpeting.) I defy any flea to survive. Heck, I can't walk. We're wearing rubber soles and still ice skating. Mwyahahaha! Perhaps now we can get the pestilent vermin to die die die and stop spending nights in hotels!
Anyway, all this super-triggering super-wearing-out stuff means I am in the deep shinola everywhere. I mean, nothing I say is right. I am rude. I am loud. I am defensive. I am disrespectful. (All that from a person who then e-mailed me to tell me more about it after telling me in person. Did I interrupt her? Yes. Was she spouting something that's been debunked? YES. That makes me angry. If you must repeat crap, repeat *accurate* crap.) Anyway.... So apparently I suck! Woohooooo! I anger everyone of late just by being me! I have a new talent! Can I get on American Idol now?

For those who were rooting for the Bears last night... Yeah. Sorry. Bummer.
So today in history... It was all really depressing. Yikes.
So, there's a book subtitled "Autobiography of a Horse". (Which of itself would catch the eye.) Actual title? Black Beauty.
Medical terminology headache warning! "Oversecretion of sebaceous glands" is how doctors define... Acne. *headdesk* Wow.
IN one of technology's great jokes, tinned food showed up in 1810=---that is, the tin can for food did---but it didn't take off right away. Why? For real, they didn't invent a can opener until 1860. Uhhh... OK? Wait, what? Huh?
Believei t or not, counting cricket chirps does actually ehlp you figure out temperature, but rather more vitally, I want to point out that if there aren't any crickets chiirping, you probably should consider the weather "Cold" and be done with it. The simplest version of the formula (less accurate with the common field cricket) is: T = 40 + N(sub15). In other words, Temperature (Fahrenheit) equals forty plus the number of chirps in fifteen seconds. This appeared in an 1887n paper by Amos Dolbear, who was actually preceded in 1881 by Margarette Brooks. Nevertheless, the law is still known as "Dolbear's Law". Incidentally, he never did a good job specifying cricket species, so if you're listening to the average crickets? Don't bet your life on the cricket chirps. Some species change their chirp rate because of mating season, ages, gender... Ah, yeah, never mind.
Why is beer bitter? Hops. Guess what? Without the hops, you dn't get the same drowsy feeling, either. Hops are used in herbal medicine to help people relax and sleep. (Use wisely, and sparingly, in herbal infusions.)
Many of us joke that if we dislike our weather, wait ten minutes, it will change. Not so on Jupiter. The big red spot, which is a storm? Ongoing at least 300 years based on our astronomical observations. Yeah, that's.. wow.

I'm feeling very down on myself (tummy flabby) and I'm still stuck not cleaning my house much, soooo.... Yeah. Whatever. I'm not doing great mood-wise, so Ig uess I'll sign off and drown my sorrows in the chocolate leading to the tummy flabby, etc. *headdesk* BTW, it's going to be summer gtemps here until end of September, eek! Am so glad we have AC!
Lovely day, all!

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

I apologized twice now to someone I offended and they're still sending me e-mails insisting I'm an ageist and lazy and all this other stuff, and I think I'm just gonna have to find another job to avoid this person. It'd be worht it right now. Yeeks.
Anyone need a trivia-nerd? Have nerdness, will travel!
Wrote to the landlady about the problem. Told her it caused me nausea and headaches (I lied). I hate dryer sheets and air fresheners. First world problems. Will become a first-time senior homeowner at some point soon.
Good for you for writing that Landlady!
Presh, Yeah, Utah not my speed. How do you feel about Virginia?!
Leo - As far as I am concerned, you can be a beotch as much as you like right now. My God woman, you have already been through a war with your Mom and now the flea/plumber apocalypse. If this person can't appreciate that you are stretched way past the limit of being reasonable about anything than the problem lies with them and not you. Cutting you some slack is what is needed. Shame on them! As for flabby tummies, I'm right there with you. Not proud of it but that is what spanx are for girl! I'll come over and do a triple axle on your slippery floors and that will cheer you up while you call 911 for an ambulance...lol.
Kel - I would have called the delivery folks and told them to send the driver right back to put the salt exactly where it belongs - downstairs. At least call them now and get them to note your account that it *must* be put downstairs. I hope that the pain eases off quickly. Thinking of you my friend!
Hi Precious - I'm sorry that your back is bothering you so much today! I understand how the weather can play havoc with our bodies only too well. Have a good one!
Hi TwinMom - I am sorry that Addison whacked her head when she was having so much fun. I hope that the chiro doesn't add to your misery. Thinking of you and sending chocolate chips your way!
Sonya - I'm so glad that you posted today even if it was an effort. It is not stupid to self impose some form of therapy to get past what is bothering you. It is an attempt to heal and feel better. I'm so hoping that the viewing goes well and that it will be your new home. Thinking of you today and sending hugs!
Ida - If you are out there, I hope that you are feeling OK today. I'm so grateful that you were at your meeting and not home alone.
Hello to everyone else that follows!
I'm off to find some breakfast and figure out what I might do today. Right now, other than the v-e-t appointment I vote for nothing other than genealogy. Later folks!
I have an issue with my email (at least it's not my entire internet, I'd cry!!!) I can't send or receive emails and it's driving me crazy!! I have a friend I talk to all day long and this is cutting into our talking time! I need help with my nightmare issue and she's got ideas damn it.
Presh, give it up, move out here, c'mon already! *waves* Get east of the Mississippi, at least, then we can meet up and have a Fibro Spa day or something...
Fan, I agree, genealogy after v-e-t, b/c OMG, our little stalkers do make life... Uh.... "interesting".
I am finishing a loom-panel board-knit blanket for my hubby for his birthday, all in Halloween colors. Red, orange, black, that stuff. And that's *it*. And thanks for the boost.
Shakota, I just had an amazing idea.... This was used by my FIL when a dog died under his house. He called a company called "Aftermath". And if you can't afford them, the big thing is use antibacterial broad=spectrum cleanser. In the meantime, bowls of vinegar and baking soda kinda suck some odor outta the air without being as bad as the Lysol-ish cover-up sprays. (Really, I'd call the health department. Claim health hazard. Something. Ew!) Big hugs.
I am chilling with my yarn project. I am so freaking worn out. Two more days until we find out if Mom needs more radiation, no stress.
Hey, if y'all skate on my floors, you can bounce off my belly flab! *boing* Like bouncy-play!
Leo, it is totally understandable that you mood is a bit cranky lately. You have been through a ton. Once you say you are sorry to someone, they need to forgive you. If they don't, that is their problem. No need to keep calling. I sure hope the flea problem is over and done with. What a nightmare. You can come and stay at my house if cleaning makes you feel better. It's a pit around here as I've been gone so much. Take care, friend.
Precious, sorry your back is hurting so much. That makes life really tough. I've never been to Utah. I think Colorado is the furthest I've been west.
Brilliant delivery guy, Kel. He probably had a dollie that he was using to haul the stuff. He could have just gone on down the stairs with it. I hope you didn't injure your back. Take it easy as best you can.
twinmom, sorry Addison clunked her head. She was brave to giggle. I hope your appointments give you relief from all that is wrong.
Sonya, I'm sorry that you are not doing well. I so understand that feeling. Take care of you. Do what is needed to feel better. Glad you have a place to look at. I hope it works out.
More in a minute.....
Shakota, I'm the same with air fresheners, perfumes, smelly lotions, and I hated smelly soaps for the longest time too. Anything that wasn't a natural smell. They gave me headaches. Those sprays you can get that are made from orange oil or lavender I can deal with, but that's about it. Even my deodorant is one of those natural ones. I'm sorry you have to deal with a dead person's smell next door and the person who died below. That's a haunting smell that doesn't go away and seems to infect your clothing and whatever came near it. Ew. Ditto what Fantod said. I would call your landlady and demand a cleaning service for that.
Precious, one of the things I do to try and prevent nightmares is read story books before bed. They have to be fun, interesting stories. I've been reading a lot of animal books lately. One was about a blind cat who was trapped in his apartment during 9/11 (the owner couldn't get to him for 4 days). Another book was about this couple who bought a little cottage and wanted a pet so they started out with a rabbit and soon ended up with multiple rabbits, 6 cats, a dozen parrots, geese, ducks, etc! It was a funny read. Right now I'm reading a book called Love Saves The Day. It's written from the cat's perspective. So far it's kind of slow, but I haven't gotten that far into the book yet. I can tell you one thing, as soon as I read about one page, I knock out. The book reading thing isn't 100% effective in preventing nightmares, especially when they get really bad. But it seems to help put my mind in a pleasant fairytale land when I go to sleep vs. a depressing subject / bad memories.
At the labs they must have taken about 10 vials of blood PLus a pee sample. I told the Filipino lab technician I just went before going to the clinic and she said, "Ah, yes, m'um... you can gib a leettle, it ok! Go ahead!" If any of you know a Filipino, they are very hard headed people who can be frustrating. I'm telling you, I was in that bathroom for like 10 mins trying to squeeze out any ounce of liquid that might be hiding in there.
I did piles of laundry yesterday. Remember those sheets that my husband put in the dryer w/o first putting through the washer? I found them in the dryer super smelly. I'm guessing he washed them, but then forgot them there overnight and then put them in the dryer even though they smelled. So not only did I have to wash my dark clothes, linens from the guest room, but rewash the that too. Yup, another F. And I did some organizing & cleaning in the office and mom's soon to be room. I tried to move the bed out of her room to the office for a guest bed (since mom will be getting a memory foam). But it was too heavy. Then I went to acupuncture.
My legs hurt enough that when Hershey stuck her paw out on my lap in an attempt to snuggle I yelled out in pain. She didn't even lean her weight in, just pawed around a little. Dang.
I want to go back to the hotel today to scavenge some more (for lamps, iron board + iron, etc), but I can't find anyone to accompany me. Shopping alone is no fun.
back shortly....
Hi Fantod. Sounds like you have your day cut out for you. I hope you find some genealogy time. Thanks for the shout out.
I am doing quite a bit better when it comes to my chest pain trouble yesterday. I just wish my lower ribs would quit hurting. (I know Bobbii understands). I'm still hurting from the flare. It did not help to lay on a hospital cot for 5 hours. Plus is was so freaking cold in there, it made me ache all the more. Thanks so much for all of your well-wishes, prayers, and concern. I appreciate it very much.
Tomorrow is my stress test at 8am. I won't get the results until next Tuesday when I see my regular doctor. If it's angina, I'm not sure what they will do for it. I don't know if I'll have nitro pills on hand, or what.
I saw my therapist this morning. It was good to talk out the events of yesterday. I thought my appointment was at 8am, so I left the house at 7:15. It was actually at 9am. I checked my phone, and that appointment was on eastern time. WTH? I never set it that way. All my other appointments are correct with central time. Now I goofed something else up on my phone, trying to fix that....so my calendar is all goofed up. Good grief.
I painted a little bit of my sign when I got home. My body does not feel like sitting at the table though. I think I will spend the rest of the crocheting.
Take care, everyone.
Ida, I'll gladly clean up for you! :-)
