Isser Harel, founder of Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, on Sept.23,1980, made this comment:
"America id deveoping a tolerance for terrorism. The United Steates has the power to fight terrorism, but not the will; the terrorists have the will, but not the power"
He was asked if terrorism would come to the U.S.
"Oil buys more than tents. You in the West kill a fly and rejoice. In the Middle East, we kill one, and one hundred flies come to the funeral. Yes, I fear it will come in time"
When asked where, he stated:
"New York is the symbol of your freedom and capitalism. It's likely they will strike there first at your tallest building, because it's your greatest fertitility [phallic] symbol, and it is a symbol of your power."
My question to you is:
Do you think America has built up a tolerance for terrorism? Still? Do you feel safe that our government has now taken the necessary acts to protect the U.S.?

There has been, is currently and will always be terrorists both in North America and abroad. It's HOW we deal with these countries now that will set the future.
D2, I don't doubt for a minute that the North Korean govt has a full battle plan in process.
Our problem is we try to help everyone but we need to start helping our own. Shut the damn doors to all. I am not a prejudice person. but I have had enough of everyone else having the oppurtunities that we as American Citizens do not even get.
When my daughter graduated high school and was looking into colleges there was so much aid to everyone but the average white girl.That pissed me off. Our family has always been a hard working American family and there is little that the damn government has to offer the average American family.
The Japanese tried to invade and were defeated. So they have attacked us financially(as have a lot of the Arab Countries) Half of New York City and Los Angeles is owned by the Japanese and Arabs. We export our jobs, we allow employers to hire illegals without consequence, we can not build a Great Wall of US to keep illegals out, we just need to inforce the laws that we presently have on the books.
the young people in the small town that I live in have been to the big sand box at least 3 times each, now. some have not returned. or they are disabled now.
I worked in health care, and we had many patients from that part of the world, who have been here 25 years or more, they do not speak one word of english, yet they are recieving health care at no cost to them. My son has gone to iraq 3 times now and because hes not on activy duty orders he has no health insurance, is this right? I guess I better just shut up, before I say to much.
WE have allowed most of our Manufacturing to go to other countries. Mill jobs sucked but they kept many families fed and with benefits.
There is little that is still done in America, I watched on 20/20 on how HR Block employ's 1000's of Indians to process American tax returns. What happened to going to the local tax accountant, the local gorcerie store, the local hardware store.
American family businesses don't exist like they used to and why because we would all like to support Walmarts so we can get more for our buck.
We would be screwed if these countries decided not to sell our items to us.
He is an New Product Design Engineer and almost everything he now designs goes over seas to be made and the china steals the design and sells it to Walmart fraction of the cost.
China alone could screw us Financially!!!!

Instead we go after Saddam and take attention off of the real target Osama!!
You are not going to go into another country and start changing peoples beliefs.
I also agree that the U.S., or at least those in charge, labored under the false impression that we were invincible (remember "Shock and Awe?") and that the threat of retaliation was all it would take to keep us safe.
I love this country and everything it's SUPPOSED to stand for, but we have been misled by corrupt politicians with other agendas, and we have gone on a fool's errand that has done nothing to protect us and everything to create more enemies and put us more in harm's way than we were before.
While I don't suggest that we should sit around and watch genocide go on and people being killed because they are the wrong race, religion, ethnicity, etc (remember Nazi Germany?) I do believe we have a nationalized arrogance embodied in a belief that everyone would do it our way if we just showed them the light.

This is my wy of saying that we should not be running about telling every other country how to run their affairs. We should protect the innocent when there is no other course, but we shouldn't be going about "spreading democracy" as if we have the solution to all the world's problems.
