I served in the military, and even I don't feel safe. The gov needs to stop being a freafin sell out and get some balls to do what's right for it's people, the US CITIZENS. Not the illegals, the LEGAL citizens that are born, work, live, and will die here. how many of those 911 terrorists came in through our broken boarders??? like 6 of them??? WTF?! 8 years later, why are we still having a discussion about where we failed??? And how many time does the gov AND the citizens have to ignore evidence again and again before we keep paying for it?? The plans for 911 were known and talked about back in the 80s!! Even the country that I grew up in (indonesia) knew about it! When I joined the Corps, I tried to tell people about it, and you know what they told me??! That I watch too many movies!! The problem with our society, is that the truth doesn't want to be heard. That's probably why our boarders are still open!! The gov needs to wake up about many things. The rape and pillage that goes on in wars all over the world have as their main agenda the demolition of the moral of the country. What harm does the raping and murder of women and children have on a military fighting machine....NONE. The damage is done to the moral of the country. The country is outraged and becomes insensed, so they attack back with the same tactics.

As for Symbolism=the American people are very wrapped in symbolism since birth....the daily pledge of allegiance, the waving of the flag on holidays, the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument,Arlington National Cemetary all of it stirs emotions deep withing our hearts and minds. We are a country of people that is unified behind ideals. The way to destroy us is to destroy our ideals.

Well if the government knows that other countries hate us. I mean its obvious they would not come to our aid....do you think we are paying for our peace? If we stopped aidding other countries what do you think would happen?

in 1992 or 93 osama bombed the trade centers with bombs in the basement ok,that being said bill clinton let him be released from our custody even after osama blatently told us that he will do it again and this time bring them down and american people with them,and here we had 911.the government is very slack in alot of things and this just confirms they don't have americas best interests in mind.just my thoughts on the subject.

Yes they hate us, but you are forgetting they NEED us.

If you put all of Europe together, it will equal the size of the US, but not the population. Each one of those little countries, lives in fear of invasion, like took place during WWI and WWII.

They need us to protect them, therefore they will come to our aid. Plus they need our Money.

The American people will never stop aiding other countries. We need them also. We do not need their military strength on a regular basis, we do not need their good either, but we take their goods and we give them financial aid as an insurance policy for the time we go to war.

Not sure if this the best place to talk about this. But since you asked.

I will first let all know where I come from. In that I have long family history of relatives that have served and most injured in wars. I am honorably discharged from the Navy. If I did not have fibo. at the time of 9-11 I would of rejoined.

What has lead to the build up of hate by the religious terroists is the United States support of Israel. And the fact the both Israel and the United States have bent over backwards in attempts to appease them. They have found that by doing terrorist acts, they gain, because the west does give in to some of there demands.

The only way to have lasting change is the stoppage of religious leaders promoting hate and lies. How best to do that? who knows.

But what Bush did in going over there I do believe is the best thing we could of done. The people that know anything about the military know we have done the best anyone in history ever has on limiting casualties. Has there been mistakes? Yes, but still better than anything in history.

We treat terrorist now, that in all other wars, after questioning, would just shoot. Any military action by people in civilian cloths has always been considered spies and could be shot on sight.

But the military in attempt to win over the support of the county, have gone to extreme measures to do so.

The teachings of the different sects believe that their savior will come and lead them to victory one day. Not just the middle east but all over the world. Religious tolerance and free speech we have always tried to promote and should continue doing so. Most of the Moslem countries not only supress that but also women.

I do not think but few really want to live under that type of goverment. By us giving the terroist targets overseas and staying on the offensive is the only thing that keeps us safe. Yes pulling back and stopping all aid to foriegn countries would satisfy them for a while. But we have learned from two world wars that we can and should not do that. Or have we??

Since before 9/11/2001 - we have never been safe. And with the war in Iraq going on, more of our men and women are getting killed adn their families and friends are left with the memories. I myself, have friends that been overseas in Iraq and my niece might be deployed over there in the the next six months. Our Pres. is not doing anything to protect our men and women over seas. The bloodshed will not help us here as we grieve for our troops overseas. Terrorists can still come in and kill us all next and what would happen? Nothing. And, I pray daily for our UNITED STATES OF AMERICA for the peace and freedom that we have and for the liberty, and our U.S. Flag. Iraquis are burning it and efegies of our President and Vice President.

In my opinion, since I HAVE served before and during 911 AND had to go to the Pentagon the night it was hit, which was AWFUL, we should start by closing the boarders. I was up front and personal with 911's destruction, and had to work up at the Pentagon for the next 1&1/2 years taking out the nasty burned up sh*t while they were fixing it and helping bring in the new stuff. The smell of the jet fuel, and burned bodies stayed in my clothes no matter what. Till this day I can still smell it. Six of those terrorists came ILLEGALLY through the boarder! I don't care what any poll says their opinion is, we have to start by closing the boarder! Then we might be a little bit safer.

I think most of us agree the war is terrible and we should have never went there. Weapons of mass destruction? Where? Hell, I even knew they (Iraq) weren't a threat.....this is a war to finacial bennifit the BUSHES. They have a great interest in a company that supplies tank type vehicles in the Iraq war and that finacially bennifits the BUSHES. Not to mention there is OIL involved.
It's all a cover up. Watch Ferrinheit 911, that's a real eye opener. If Micheal Moore is a liar, why hasn't BUSH suied him for slander?

It's all a mess. Hell, we can't even take care of our own people in th US and I'm talking about New Orleans, our elderly, our kids and on and on...

I am not a BUSH support by any means, truth be told I can't even look at him without saying a few choice words to the TV. That being said maybe there is a force far greater than Bush that calls the shots. Maybe rich, powerful people from lets say, Saudi Arabia?
