Hi all,
I seem to be experiencing a real catch 22 of a problem. Along with my fibro, I also have a vestibular disorder, so I'm dizzy a lot of the time. It impacts on my ability to exercise so I am inactive much of the time. As a result, I sit just about all day long. This makes my pain level way worse. I am sure that exercise is supposed to help, right? Or something else, maybe? I do take Lyrica and Savella, but I don't find they help much. I also take a slew of vitamins and have modified my diet where I am eating healthy most days (an improvement!).
I don't think this came out very clear. I'm not having a great day...thanks to everyone, though.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Dizzyness is a normal Fibromyalgia symptom. I lay down a lot. Sitting and standing hurts me as well. If you are in too much pain you might want to see about getting a pain doctor or increasing your Lyrica dose. Other than that you could try water therapy, gentle massage, and just about anything that makes you feel better. However I have never liked muscle relaxers, as they increase your likelyhood of injury and make you feel even more dizzy and naseous. Good Luck and remember, we are always here to help.
I have found a recumbent cycle the most comfortable and "doable" of the aerobic machines - also sitting down and well supported with handholds.
Exercise is extremely helpful - just have to find something you enjoy - or at least don't hate - that's doable for you in your circumstances.
I had to learn to walk with an eye to the left to keep my balance until the doctor was able to look at my foot. The foot is being treated, and I'm able to balance better.
What you are experiencing can also contain "referred pain" so it becomes a research to find the origin of the pain, and when you do, you will find the rest falls into place.
Best wishes. Do move around, even if it's just your feet on the floor while you are sitting, then a stand up hold in place. Any slow, gentle, flow together motion exercise will help your muscles find complete relaxed stage which they do not get from sitting.
