I feel like Snoopy with his tongue hanging out - just blah! Too tired to do anything of enduring importance. Mind spinning with things I can't do anything about. Trying to focus to apply for Medical (medicaid/Covered Care California) AGAIN!!! I read this little line in the mound of paperwork that says if you have Medicare, you don't qualify for Covered California...To put it bluntly, but clean - just WHO DOES this freaking obamacare benefit??? Sir, if I saw you on the street, I would punch you squarely in the nose!!!Ah life! time for bankruptcy i guess. Even today, the day before surgery, the hospital wants to know about the payment plans for their 20%.whoo hoo! nevertheless, I am determined to not let it spoil my day! I covet all your prayers and well wishes at this time. Thanks  for being here.

Sorry for all of your struggles. I don't know what type of surgery you are facing, but I going to be having surgery soon as well. I am on Medicare through being on disability. We will have a lot of out of pocket too. Work with the hospital to make payments. That is what we always do. My husband and I had a total of 3 surgeries last year. We just got everything paid up, and now we can start over again. I'll say a prayer for your surgery tomorrow.

I hate paperwork in general.Its so hard to focus when i'm tired or foggy. It literally will give me anxiety attacks.I hope you feel okay to get thru it.Are you having surgery tomorrow? Prayers and well wishes for speedy recovery for what surgery is for.

Idajoy, thank you for the prayers and the encouragement. I had a breast lumpectomy - no cancer! (Yes! Thank you Jesus!). Was able to work out reasonable payment schedule with hospital too. Thank you too, fallingleaves. My surgery was Tuesday and I am in some pain but recovering well. Due to the general trauma of the point of incision and having to clear out some bacteria under the nipple (SUPER OUCH!) and take out the ducts, I have a large "blister" which keeps leaking but hopefully will not pop outright. Weird, right? Again proof that my daughter is right and I should donate my body to science (hopefully she means when I'm no longer using it.) Peace.

The statement you don;t qualify for Medi-Cal if you have Medicare is not entirely true. If you have Medicare, you don't qualify for Medi-Cal to be your primary, But, if your income and resources are low enough and your have Medicare, you may qualify for Medi-Cal to pay your Medicare Premiums, co/pays and deductibles. You may also qualify for a set low cost on your prescription drugs. Medicare Savings Programs and Extra Help are Medicaid/MediCal. It just isn't Medicaid/Medi-Cal the way most people think.

Obamacare benefits those that have little to no income. Those with preexisting conditions, adult children under 26, etc. Those that have too much income for Medicaid but not enough to pay full price for monthy insurance premiums, etc.
Obamacare benefits a lot of people.

Thinking of you and hope you have a speedy recovery. I am sorry you are dealing with all of that insurance stuff. I haven't seen much positive about Obamacare. I have friends who were fined because they couldn't afford the coverage. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyways. You take care of yourself.
