Funny you should say that. Even as a little girl I have had this funny spot on the front of my neck that has always looked like ring worm or some crazy trachea scar.. the size of my pointer finger. I have always wondered what it was, but it is not an open sore. Wouldn't that just be weird if it was a fibro mark?

There is a lupus rash called discoid lupus. You might want to Google photos and see if it looks similar. If so take photos, go to dermatologist and get a biopsy. Some people with lupus are diagnosed by biopsy. And most people with fibro are tested for autoimmune diseases early. Some eventually will be diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Some time the reverse happens--an autoimmune disease comes first and fibro is secondary.

A few months ago I indeed found a spot on my left side that resembled a ring worm mark. Inflamed, with a raised circular edge, kind of like a cigarette burn.

I was only seen by the nurse, who said it was ring worm just by looking at it a few seconds and gave me topical cream. It took several weeks longer than claimed for the mark to disappear. Numerous months later, I still have what looks like a scar.

@ AnnNY: I looked up discoid lupus when you mentioned it, but I can't say the mark looked anything like that. Thanks for the tip, though.

Adding to the above, there are no such things associated with fibro, but a referral to a dermatologist sounds wise. THere's a lot of ringworm lookalikes out there, ranging from contact eczema to insect bites to who knows what-all, and a decent dermo will know. There's fungi that cause rings that aren't ringworm, for starters, so ringworm meds won't necessarily work on all of them.

For years, since I was a teenager, I had something like this on my shin. No matter what I put on it, it never fully healed. I had it long before fibro, and after I would say about 10 years, it finally went away.

Could be a patch of psoriasis. I get them periodically but not a full blown outbreak. I get a small patch on my arms usually during the winter. I would see a dermatologist. Take care.
