A wonderful night

I went on a date with a guy I've known for more than 12 years. He always seemed interested in me, but everytime I tried to ask him out, he would run away and then act edgy most of the times I saw him. He's always been a good friend but I gave up asking him out. I guess I gave up thinking I would have a nice guy like him. He asked me out (seriously) and he showed up. We had coffee and then walked around the lake across the street. The water was as still as glass and I can see all the stars in the sky. He was trying to make the night perfect. I guess he can control the weather too. Lol He held me and kissed me. He knows I have fibromyalgia and it didn't bother him at all. I am on good meds and I told him mild walking helps with pain so we walked around the lake.


When I found out how sick I was, I gave up on dating. I mean what are you supposed to do when you are in so much pain anyway? Plus, I'm over 30 years old. Going out on a date is different at that age than when you're a teenager. Fortunately it was with someone whom I have known for many years and is supportive. I told him that since I am over 30 years old, I plan on getting a house and filling it up with cats. The guy wasn't that happy about me getting my own house but happy with the cats idea. Lol

I really liked reading your story. It gives me a bit of hope. I know I'm only 27, but I haven't been on a date in almost three years. At the risk of sounding vain, I used to get asked on dates very often. Now, never. I wish you the best of luck with your friend. :-) He sounds very understanding & sweet.

I had a wonderful night. He was tired and ready to go home. My muscles in my back clenched up so it was time for 10mg of Flexiril and call it a night.

Hey, just read your happy story and I am thrilled for you! I am married to a wonderful man (this time, lol), but can't imagine what it would be like to date again, Good on ya!

Eek, dating?! You are ten times braver than I, and that is when I was a teen, let along midforties. Married over 20 years, cats seem to occur, and the mere ifea of ever dating again? Yeah, send me those cats. So sweet he is understanding of you, and has knwon you so long. Wow, dating.... Kudos! Congrats!

I would love to get remarried again someday. I have been divorced for 11 years (I actually celebrate the anniversary of the divorce with cake every year. That may be an indicator how the marriage went. Lol). I really want a forever guy. Getting remarried would be a dream come true.

Your story made me chuckle. I love it! It's sweet and romantic. I got married at 30 and my husband was 38. I've seen people wait till their in their 40's or 50's. Getting married isn't about the right age, it's about the right person. I'm excited for you!

Good for you. I haven't dated since I was 18. That's when I got married. Now I'm 54, and my hubby still comes home to me every weekend. (Travels for work). I wish you all the best.
