im going to try not to go into depth or turn this into a rant, but long story short im 16 and cant move out untill im 18, im homeschooled and cant drive at the moment so i spend all day at home or when i do go out its with my family, so i am with them constantly and cant really distance myself from them that way. but i dont like being negatively effected by them, by the fights and by the eggshells. if anyone has tips on how to deal with that and find ways to not be so attached, or just good things to try i would gladly appreciate it. thank you

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
When I lived at home as a teenager, I would go in my bedroom and lock the door and listen to music, talk on the phone with friends, watch my little tv. Or, go in the backyard. I didn't want to be around my parents much at that age either. Think of creative ways you can get out for awhile. Have a friend pick you up for the day, etc. Good luck.
Perhaps instead of thinking of yourself as currently stuck, think of it as you have two years to get ready.
Research how much it costs to rent a room and how much utilities are. Look up jobs and see ask what experience the employers are looking for. Use your spare time to study and get good at those skills.
How to put this diplomatically...not all homeschool educations are the same. If you're going onto college, then you will almost certainly take the SATs or ACTs...so that will reflect your knowledge. However if you're going directly to work, some employers are less willing than other's to take a homeschool diploma...so you might want to look into studying for a GED now.
It would help to have your car again. I wish I did that at 16. the 18 number is arbitrary and made by lawmakers who don't understand what hell it can be like to live with toxic and abusive family.
