Well Tomorrow at 10am is my court date to hopefully get this temporary peace order turned to a permanent one (well for a year) its better than nothing. I will update the group with the results. I am going to make sure the judge hears me and that it is pointed out that using a SO registry listing with in tent to HARRASS is a criminal offense!

Due to my stress from all of this I am one day ahead in my internal calendar. The court date is 10am on 11/30 so Wednesday. It is... Hoping for the best. All this stress and anxiety is not good for me. Now another day to stress and worry!...

Good luck on Wed., try to relax some tonight and tomorrow. Do something that helps you, hot bath, reading a good book, watching a movie, deep breathing, listening to music .....etc....

I know easier said then done. Just remember you cannot control what will happen Wed. What happens is going to happen. I hope you have a judge that looks well at the evidence and laws.

UPDATE: I got the PEACE ORDER today in Court! A small victory. It will be in effect for 6mths and I can position to extend it after that.

The judge was a true ASS! He lectured the entire court room on how the law works and that we are only to answer him with Yes or No responses and not to elaborate on anything as he "DOES NOT WANT TO HERE IT" Well after sitting in the court room listening to him belittle the people petitioning the court for protection and trying to get a peace order or restraining order.

He made me feel like scum of the earth for even thinking I needed a peace order against this father. HE said and "What did you expect when you decided to stand by your husband a Registered Sex Offender" Well, that was all it took for me to no longer abide by his...you must answer by yes or no only. And I just as I would say puked out everything I have bottled up since Nov 10th when my husbands Sentencing was done!

I told that judge and looked straight into the eyes of the Victims Dad and said:

I am not a criminal... I did not do anything to your daughter. I am and forever will support my husband of 17yrs. He made a horrible mistake and had one inappropriate conversation via FB with your daughter. And he is paying for that believe me he is. He is registered for the next 25 yrs. He is on probation for the next 3yrs. Of which he must make daily phone calls to check in with his PO, he must go to his PO office and check in via a kiosk WEEKLY, he must meet with his PO every 2WKS. The PO comes to our HOME once per week. He is not allowed to go to our 9 and 4 yr old daughters school plays, sporting events, or even pick them up from school. But that is beside the point, The point of my being here is to address that it is AGAINST THE LAW for you to publish on over 150 Social Media pages My husbands SO registry and attach your paragraph rant naming me and my minor daughters. Since you did this I have been harassed via the phone, had a tire slashed on my car. And almost lost my job because you have posted this on my office Facebook page. So today I am asking the court to protect me from being harassed by you. I am not and will not allow you to make me a Victim. You are breaking the law. It clearly states you are at the bottom of the sex offender registry.

The judge keep saying are you "DONE" Ms? And I said I have taken off work and come to this court house ever week for 3wks now and I did not come here not to be heard.

He then said DO YOU HAVE A LAWYER?? I said I do not need a lawyer and was advised by your court ppwk the last time I was hear that a "LAWYER IS NOT REQUIRED" for a peace order hearing. He then shut up and said.

Ms. You are awarded your peace order for 6mths as allowed by Maryland Law at the end of the 6mths you may return to petition the court for an extension. He advised Mr.Asshole that he is not to harass me, contact me in anyway and not use social networks to harass.


It was a horrible thing to have to go thru however I feel a slight sense of relief and victory.

Once you feel secure, file charges. Period. I apologize in advance if someone has written why you can't (there are 45 posts on this topic and 5 pages and I am in a rush at the moment) But from your initial story it seems you have every right to file criminal charges and sue.

I have no doubt there were folks in the court room silently cheering you on for standing up. I especially love the part where you told the Judge off; that you would not be silenced and victimized by his prejudices against sex offenders, and that you will not allow the court, nor the judge to treat you like you are a criminal that has no rights to be heard. Totally AWESOME job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
