Hang in there. Hope you find some friends to support you. If not, lots of us here are here for you.
Thanks for the support. I really needed it. Hugs all around <3
My brother isn't doing as well. He just refuses to talk about it at all and hasn't spoken a word to anyone. He has always been that way and it never ends well. He always ends up blowing up and doing something stupid. I am starting to worry more about him even though he is definitely the stronger of the two by far.
I am definitely a worrier though. So hopefully I am just worrying for nothing. There's not much I can do but be there for him if he does decide he wants to talk.
I suspect that it was because their arrest was part of a larger statewide investigation and they wanted to arrest everyone at once and make headlines. Once they were actually arrested, everything proceeded very quickly.
As you can see, they are clearly dangerous criminals who need to be locked away. So dangerous, in fact, that we waited 3 and a half years to arrest them. It will be 4 years by the time they actually go to prison.
So just because they raided your house in 2012 and they did not even look at the evidence until 2013, with your husband being arrested at a later date, if the time between the actual arrest and trial was not inordinately lengthy, then the government did not violate your husband's right to a speedy trial.
I think the government has something like 60 or 70 days from the date of the arrest to get a defendant to trial without violating the Sixth Amendment of the United States Constitution unless the attorney waives the right to a speedy trial.
In fact, here is the legal definition-----
"""The right to a speedy trial does not apply to every stage of a criminal case. It arises only after a person has been arrested, indicted, or otherwise formally accused of a crime by the government. Before the point of formal accusation, the government is under no Sixth Amendment obligation to investigate, accuse, or prosecute a defendant within a specific amount of time."""
I hope this clears things up a bit.
rewdiazepam
It sets out the maximum time that the government has to initiate legal proceedings from the date of an alleged offense.

I would be happy to drag it out as long as possible if he is free and not incarcerated.
My reasoning is that at least he doesn't have to live under the rules of ML. until he under parole.
AND if he can....see if your attorney can bargin a time when he gets OFF Megans law and get it on paper.
Parole for life is a horrible sentence that most dont know they are agreeing to until its time for them to get released. then they say too themselves "WTF did I DO when I took that plea bargin.".
Clarify it now Before sentencing !!!
