I'm not trying to discourage you, though. I know in my state, it is not against the law, but that can always change. Check the laws in your state, know the risk and be willing to live with it.
Ultimately, the way for us to help change this situation is to step out with courage to help those we love. Also, perhaps your RV park will stay under the radar if you follow the local zoning laws.
Good luck! I'm with you!
You are probably thinking of the good old state of Oklahoma, located directly within the Bible Belt and full of ignorant, redneck hillbillies for citizens and legislators. Most backward people I have ever seen.
If the specific case you are citing was not in Oklahoma, well, the same thing happened here.
Every time I go register I have to list who is living with me because they passed a law several years ago that sex offenders could not reside in the same dwelling unless they were related.
Also they had another newsworthy incident a couple of years ago in which one guy was attempting to help released sex offenders by allowing him to live in mobile homes on his land. A few people complained, so the legislature passed a low forbidding it.
Anything goes in this state to make the politicians look "tough on crime."

I'll keep looking into it. There has to be something I can do to help... a fleet of SO houseboats? Hmmm...
Task force: Sex offender restrictions pointless

There Goes the Neighborhood
What happens to your home’s value when a registered sex offender moves in next door?

i dont mind entertaining the idea, that we could create a very caring community, where we can truely support each other.
Ok.... looks like someone could make a killing in the housing market.
I'm leaning towards this idea. Nasty minded people are often cowards. They don't mind going after those who they consider 'weak', but once a crowd has gathered they chicken out.
The US has SOs and their families running scared. If more banded together and fought back... just think of what they could accomplish.
You may think I'm kidding, but I'm not. Actually, in my state, this is called co-housing. Families get together and purchase an old farm or something to that effect with a building on it that becomes like a clubhouse or community building. Then they build homes around it. This falls under condo zoning in my state. The group decides who can move in and who can't.
Perhaps there are some regions where you can set up a living situation more like a trailer/pre-fab home park. I guess someplace with cheap land that can be zoned for that and developed with water, septic and utilities could be a very good idea...just not in Oklahoma, right, Rew?
Anyone for sharing a satellite dish?
On another level, I'm not sure. I'm thinking about this more from the perspective of a parent, and I would be worried about the stigma involved with a child living in what people would probably see as a sex offender compound, and also with the potential conflicts with things like CPS if you were to raise a child in a community like that.
For single SOs, I can see it being a viable option, but I think it would be hard on kids (nobody would ever let their kids come over to play, all their classmates would know they lived in the place where the SOs live) and I would worry about child services wanting to get involved and cause problems.
I'm not made for communal type living, However, as an unapologetic Capitalist, the worry of those morons who would try to run em outta town? Remember, not all of us are firearms restricted, and most spouses are not restricted either...The simple way would be to have an 'Armory' that restricted persons don't have access to...
I've done a little 'Cowboyin' in my day and riding fence line and with Wisconsinrsol as backup? Well, anyone who had 'INTENTIONS' would get a rude and unpleasant welcome...
