I'm glad the group is public. People should know the reality of life for people on these lists, and the diversity of people who end up on them.

well a community like im proposing and building is NOT for everyone. Some of us will do fine with it and others will not. I have purchased 40 acres to start and propose a camper type community for ALL families on approximately 1.2 acre each. We are allowing for FAMILIES as well to live here so the community will be mixed. We also have survivors who believe in healing the trauma.The land is OFF-GRID and itll be alot of work.We do have supporters though who believe SOs are undergoing many injustices as we speak.

I was convicted in 1995 in New York. Since then finding work has been difficult and leaving me to being self-employed.My wife works hard and Im tired of attempting to live in an unforgiving society.She will continue to work off-site to bring in funds and monies.I am still young and healthy enough to get this project moving but im not getting any younger.I feel THIS IS my way of trying to repair the damage ive done to society . It is a calling from God to assist those of us who just want to go back to some kind of normal life. It will be as normal as we try to make it...its still within driving distance to the surrounding city...it is off-grid as well so all the codes and rules and town codes wont apply. It is the best I can do.
Many SOs would rather cower and hide within their 4 walls living in society, I am not one of those people.Im going to live my life to the fullest. I can NOT take back my actions from 1995, God knows I would if I could. I WILL move on though , EVEN if society tries to hold me back.

I know when I first posted on here, my wild & wacky idea was not only a community that SO's and their families could live but....an SO Only Supermarket, drugstore, fine restaurants, ect.
In my dream, I was like the maitre de(sp.?) or maybe it was the valet..anyway, I took SUPREME pleasure in denying access to just a regular person..." Oh, so sorry sir, but if you do not have a current SO card, you are denied access here.Please go to the 1000's other restaurants where SO ARE NOT WELCOME!!"
Anyway, it was a grand idea, where all SO & families were welcome, and there was a huge training center, where experts in every field were invited to put on seminars and training in all kinds of blue & white collar jobs, ect.
I know, I know...jeez jmjh!! Please, either get off the meds or get back on them!!!!

Mohawk - your idea is quite interesting. I'll absolutely be watching to see how your project works out.

Some SOs want to go to battle about this unfairness, while others just want to live in peace. Kudos to oneofthem for sticking in there, but my son is on the quiet side, he's not a fighter.

well, usually youll find the people who make the most noise, actually do the least when it comes down to a fight.Many will TALK alot and do nothing. I say little and have done alot. Your son would be welcome to fill out the application and might be accepted. If we do well here, with all the people we have behind us, this community is only the start.we have also been looking into off-grid property in other states as well.If you got any questions feel free to send me a personal message or email as well and ill get back to you asap.

cant say i blame you, would like to think we can do both, live off the grid and fight, sounds like you have been out of touch with what is going on, but please dont discount the state advocacy groups and supporters that are working their tail end off fighting for all of you, especially now that the sessions are in progress. there are many who get very little sleep and spend countless hours in committee rooms.

i will do whatever i can to insure it my son has a chance at a fulfilling future and if this is something he wants to do, i will support that as well.

yes, there ARE many people who do attempt to fight for us and I dont forget them...I admire them. My point is, the people who do the most mouth-running and making threats and so forth...are the 1st ones to lay down when it gets hot in the kitchen.Ive been around thousands of people...and Im from the Mohawk Reservation ...the people who antagonize and cause the trouble...are the first ones to run with their tails between their legs.Full Circle Survivors is not a community to cause trouble or bring attention...just to lay back after we get tired and TRY to have some sort of a normal life...with our loved ones at least.

Has anyone heard anything about how the project is going at full Circle.....

So, I am wondering if any of these communities ever took off and became successful? I am living in South Dakota and the housing in my area is incredibly difficult if you have to register.

My BF is a construction supervisor and we've been planning on rehabbing cheap houses near us and then renting them out. I've decided since everything's happened that we're only going to rent to SOs. We do need to stick together. The only law I know of about living together is in PA 5 or more SOs classified as violent offenders can't live together. But we'd love to live off the grid, have plans to do that.

I have been homeless since last May and I am currently looking at the possibility of a travel trailer due to the difficulty in finding housing. I suck at backing up a trailer, and I'm not sure what the strain could do to my SUV, but I wouldn't have to face the rejection of trying to find housing again.
