without families, we do not have a community, we have a bunch of men in a housing compound if there were no families then we still have nothing that resembles a real life....i mean, we could create a park where fathers could take their kids....actually kids would be so well watched and protected that they would probably be 'safer' than out in the real world. as far as work, we would definately have to have some way of pulling in an income, may take a little ingenuity and enterprising but it could be done.

I have always been interested in the idea of a communal living arrangement myself, and have lived in a few...I never liked the idea of it being only one type of person though....I love diversity, and more than that I love acceptance and unconditional love. I have often wondered about some of the intentional communities now, how they would accept a RSO into their family?

I don't like how this site is public either. Several times I went to add more but stopped myself. I've submitted my name for membership to the private forum but haven't heard back. I need help but don't want to put my questions in an open forum.

we do get some wack jobs in here from time to time and even though we can't do much we do watch out for each other

Frankly, I think its good that its public. It highlights the issues we are having. People who are victimized by sex offense tend to think in very black-and-white terms. This is not meant as an insult in any way. It is how humanity is programmed to respond to threat, i.e., protect yourself and get the heck away from the threat. Black-and-white, correct?

Too many people identify with that mentality and think that it is the appropriate response. Unfortunately, in this case adhering to our biological programming is harmful to everyone. BUT if you think in black-and-white, you can't see that. There needs to be a socially acceptable way for people to think about this that allows them to break out of that kind of thinking without being rejected by the society. Right now, that simply doesn't exist except in small pockets like this forum.

If other people read this and sent us hate posts, so be it! But my hope is that more people would read this and start to see another side to the issue...like gray... That would eventually help us all.

for the most part, yes, i dont mind that it is public, in another, i am just a little more cautious about how much i say. i like to think this public site has done just what peek says and brought an understanding to those who are not aware of what is going on with registrants

am doing just that as we speak!! I have found a large piece of land that is located 'OFF-GRID'. This property is for SOs and their families, and survivors of sexual abuse! Because we are 'off-grid' noone can interfere.The property is in the mountains of Washington state.
