I have been looking for a safe place to find support and friendliness and I hope I am in the right place If not someone please let me know. But anyway I was convicted in 07 but charged in 06 of 1 count material depicting a minor in sexually explicit situation. Yes i take full ownership of my crime and am deeply regretful I knew she was young i honestly thought she was about 18 to 20 years old it was a picture I had found on the internet. I was back then very new to the net and was frantically as many men do searching for young naked women and i had found a photo I was attracted to and printed it out. I back then did not realize there was a such thing available online as child porn I thought the only way you got that stuff was taking pictures yourself which I was always against unless it was your child in the bathtub when they are babies (which nowadays that is a form of child porn here in WV) Well I served 1 yr of a 2 yr sentence because in WV you get credit 2 days for 1 now for 1 picture I have to live for life on the registry. I would love to find a state where I can come off that registry. All SO crimes here are in same basket and its lifetime registry. I personally have never nor would I ever harm any child. Although while I was locked up I was informed that indirectly I did harm a child by looking at her photo. So I also have a guilt now for the fact I did harm someone. But I do feel no matter a crime everyone should be allowed one mistake. Be punished then forgiven. I do believe in God and live in a bible belt state but He forgives.... Many times people don't Especially the ones that profess they were forgiven of their sins by Him.... Why cant people that claim that be the first to forgive as well? Oh well this was meant as an introduction in hopes maybe finding a support Network of some friends and I trook off into left field...
Prior to my crime I would search for friends, girlfriends, and love....Now I go to my low paying job, come home eat, mess on the internet, then go bed and wake up to repeat, and never search for a lady in my life for fear of them finding out about the time I fall in love and I lose them. But here is another thing that got me extremely hard just today I went to fill my prescriptions and happened to get a glance at the computer with my profile of medications I am on and at the top of my page it says in big red bold flashing letters Registered Sex Offender I have no idea why that would even be on a pharmacy computer. Why would they have a need to know? OK here I go again and yes I feel sorry for myself as this has thrown me into a deep depression and caused me to withdraw as much as possible from society shucks I am about to say forget ever going back and filling any prescriptions at all. I was a pharmacist and since my release from prison I have helped a lot of pharmacists with their computers and the software they use to run their businesses. I have never seen any profile of any patient or anything on the screen on any of the places I helped where there was a place for "Registered Sex Offender," and certainly not in bold, red, flashing letters. I cannot imagine why that would be on your patient profile page, as it has nothing to do with the medical needs of a patient.
I am not aware of any pharmacy software that has anything like you are describing and there is no reason for those words to be there. Why don't you just come out and ask them?
I would change pharmacies. And no, the last thing you want is to just stop taking your prescription medications. That would be the worst thing you could ever do, especially if you are suffering from depression.

Can someone tell he how this works? You look at an image of an underage person from years ago, who has no idea you are looking at it or that you even have access to the image. But somehow you have personally hurt this person and they are one of your victims.
Let me ask------How can a person be a victim of something if they aren't even aware of it? How is that possible?
The haters and people who want to shame someone who has merely looked at a CP image always bring this out as a trump card.
There is no magical force that slaps someone in the face or tugs at their shirt collar when someone else looks at an image of them nude. That person has no way of knowing that you looked at the picture; in fact, they have no way of knowing if you even exist.
fun, the idea that you victimized the person in this image and made her your victim is just ludicrous. I don't know how or why these silly ideas keep perpetuation themselves.
CP is bad and it is bad enough without having to lie about the reasons it is bad. The person who was the proximate cause of that person's suffering and victimization is the person who took the picture, not you. Don't continue to kick yourself in the butt by believing such a foolish notion.

As I said once, my father was on Saipan in WWII. After securing the island the GIs found hundreds of pictures in which very young Japanese children had been tortured and sexually abused. Everyone at his base looked at those photos many times.
Are the 90 year old men who were once the GIs who looked at those images now sex offenders? Did they victimize those young Japanese children when they looked at the images? Did they make those children their victims?
Of course not. To imply that my father was a sex offender because he looked at those photos is just stupid.
But the reason for all these fables and myths we have about CP is to demonize and shame its viewers to the extent that the laws and sentences will continue to be very harsh. These victims groups instill this nonsense into Mr. Joe Public's mind and it justifies more sex offender legislation.
There is a critical lack of common sense and truth in this country when it comes to sex offenses.

It was another inmate that was in there for the same offenses as I was. His reasoning behind it all was that without the ones looking then the need for the ones producing it diminishes to put the picture takers out of business. My argument is in the picture this young lady seemed very happy to be doing these pictures and as I said before she looked marginal whether she was of legal age or not. at least in my opinion.
I am praying that people are wrong about the fact that at least Ohio will not make me stay on registry for life because their supreme court ruled they cant retro act the laws and according to that I would not fall under the AWA because of the time and with it I would qualify to be off the registry after a full 10 years of release and staying clean. I was released in 07 so I have about 1 1/2 years to go and also according to Ga. after 10 years I can petition the court for removal once they would get me placed in a tier if I could be in tier 1 which is done after you move there and live for 6 months. I have a friend that is doing that now there and depending on what county is the way the laws there is based with some more harsh than others. I read on here that Colorado and Oregon are good possibilities and I saw that on a post of someone asking for the least restrictive states to live in so I gotta hold on to some hopes even if they are false for now or honestly if I feel my life is over I dont know where I stand any longer because yes I feel like overall I can be a good person but due to my mistakes in life I feel like a low piece of coward crap lowlife

Your inmate friend was wrong. CP is not the typical supply and demand situation, as it rarely involves money as is the case in commercial supply and demand situation.
CP is traded free to other people into the CP crowd. There is one instance in which more is made but that is so they will make new CP that cannot be detected by LE.
Your inmate friend's reasoning that looking at it causes more to be produced is silly. By using that reasoning if all the CP in the world was destroyed, there was no more internet, and everyone stopped looking at these images, then the producer of this filth would just think to themselves, "Gee, nobody wants to look at my pictures of me molesting little Sally. Well, guess I will just stop now since there is no more demand. No point in producing it if nobody wants to view it."
Does that sound ridiculous? Well it should because it is.
The producers of CP are NOT producing these images of children being molested just to give the downloaders more images to view. The producers continue to make this filth because they are perverted and enjoy hurting children and has nothing to do with making these images to fulfill a demand.

You are allowing people with an agenda to shame you and make you feel as if you are a failure as a person---as a human being. They are belittling you with these insane theories of how awful you have been as a human being for your charges----and it is working.
The people that do this are those who have no common sense and get a big kick out of ridiculing others. Many do this to make up for the miserable failures they have been in life and doing this to you makes them seem feel better.
Stop allowing others to define you as a person. You know what you are. In your heart you know you are a good person, but you are allowing others to tell you that your heart is wrong and that you are an evil sex offender.
Do not allow people to rob you of your dignity. Nobody can take our dignity away unless we allow them to. Do not allow it. Once you allow them to strip you of your dignity as a human being, then a loss of your self-respect will follow. Then you life will be a living hell.
Yes, you made a mistake but you have paid dearly for that mistake. It is a mistake you accepted and for which you paid the price. Don't allow them to make you continue to pay for that one mistake every day for the rest of your life. Learn from it and move on. You can do this, but you have to not allow them to shame you like this.
Get out there and live your life the way a decent person such as you should. Keep your head up high.

According to the Ohio Supreme Court ruling in the Williams case, if your crime preceded the establishment of the tier levels---the enactment of the AWA in Ohio---- and bumped you up to a lifetime registration from your original registration requirement of 10 years, then you should revert back to your original registration scheme of 10 years. After fulfilling that original 10 year requirement, you should be removed from the registry.

So you do not have much more time to serve on the registry.
BUT, BUT, fun, if you are removed from the registry in Ohio, you had damn well better stay in Ohio. Establishing residence in another state will subject you to a federal requirement to register as you have then engaged in interstate commerce. If you moved to another state, the feds could make you begin registering all over again.
The reason for this is that there is not only a state requirement to register, but with the AWA/SORNA also a federal requirement to register.
I am from Oklahoma and I was removed in 2013 from the registry because of the Starkey case. You can bet the farm that I will not move out of this state as I do not want to have a United States Marshall at my door wanting to know why I did not register in my new state of residence.
Keep this in mind.

I have been terribly busy today and I forgot you lived in WV but was thinking about moving to Ohio. Anyway, if anyone from Ohio has been removed from the registry, they had better stay in Ohio for the reasons I gave.

The Williams Ohio Supreme Court ruling uses the date the crime was committed as the date to use when determining retroactivity of SORNA there, not the day you were released from prison.
