WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!!!!
I have explained this many times to many people on the board that I have no problem with the cop on the beat, but I have REAL problems with federal law enforcement, which this guy happens to be.
One of my friends here on the forum that I happen to respect is a police officer.
It is the guys who break down the door at the crack of dawn, put guns to the heads of senior citizens, rough up the wives, SHOOT THE DAMN DOG, take the suspect out in the freezing winter without allowing him to even put his jeans on, and that kind of behavior I hate.
If anyone on this board or anywhere else can give me a good reason the federal agents have to pull guns on old women, shoot the family dog (which was doing nothing), break the door down, knock over the new TV, and generally act like hooligans with badges, then I want to hear it-------right now. RIGHT NOW.
I do not like to see the innocent mothers or wives treated this way when they come in like this. It is unnecessary. Most of these guys are bullies and intoxicated by their power and they mistreat the innocent family members.
If ANYONE wants some details, I can sure find you plenty.
My friends on this board---the wives and the mothers---can recite some horror stories regarding the manner in which the FEDERAL agents stormed into their house and tore the hell out of the place and treated their family.
I am usually a mild mannered guy, but I can really get riled when I think of how these "gangsters with badges" push their weight around.
If there is anyone here that thinks these federal law enforcement are "good guys", then I suggest you become a suspect---an innocent one at that---and see just how kind they are. They will lie to you, they will do everything they can to convict you EVEN though they know you are innocent. They will obstruct justice by trying to hide evidence and they will tamper with your witnesses.
If anyone wants any particular example, I have plenty.
You are talking to a guy that spent eight years in prison and 14 years on the registry, lost my professional license forever, lost my marriage, lost everything because of these "gentleman detectives." They knew I was innocent, yet they convicted me anyway.
And then when the so-called "victim" went to court 15 years later to exonerate me, they blocked that also.
These federal agents are not good people. Good people do not do what they do.
I will never change my opinion of the detectives and federal people in law enforcement because I saw what they were capable of and if you ever read any affidavits or transcripts in which they testified, you will be shocked at how slick they are at lying.
ANYBODY that knowingly sends innocent people to prison---and then brags about it later---is NOT a very decent person.
Everyone here knows how I feel about law enforcement, so this message should be no surprise-----and I will never change.
We all are a product of our environment over the years and I am a product of mine. I make no apologies for the way I feel.
I KNOW how these guys play the game and if anyone thinks these guys are upstanding once they put that uniform on, they are just either ignorant or naïve.
The people who have been through the criminal justice system or are just beginning who think that these guys are nice, just have not been screwed hard enough yet. But given time, you will. Why? Because we live in a quasi Police State in this country.
So please, don't anyone try to tell me these federal agents and detectives are "good of decent" people. They might be OK to play golf with, but once they put the uniform on and decide you are a suspect and want to convict you, they turn into rabid animals with no mercy.

Kim, it's to the point that so many of them are hypocrites. so many of them make the laws and the others enforce the laws but they are just as bad. NO they are worse simply because they know, make and enforce the laws that they wantonly break.
and then you see countless of them get off with a slap. and in doing so, they don't end up with ruined lives, careers and families. and soooooo many of them are saddled with a label that practically glows in the dark.
I understand the vitriol towards police officers on a meta level, they are the ones who actually get their hands dirty and enforce the laws that the politicians create so they can stay in office and that the courts will not overturn. I do not have the personal experience that some of you do of waking up to police knocking down your door for a search warrant. I have had a lot of bad experience with cops throughout my time being on the registry. For me I was able to look past it because I know they are only the pawns in this chess game, just doing their job. I am much angrier at the DA that forced me into a bad plea, or the politicians that passed all of the draconian laws, or the courts who refuse to follow the constitution than the police. We are all informed from our experiences and that is mine.
I work in support and prison reform and I am very, very passionate about my work.
I did not say whether this federal agent was innocent or guilty because I have no idea, but he is entitled to a fair and impartial trial as we all are.
Working in prison reform, I talk to other people that work with or for a few of the Innocence Projects around the country. I have even donated and emailed Barry Scheck a few times.
Everybody----everybody to the last person----that works trying like hell to get some of these innocent men and women out of prison and to make it a fairer system for all Americans, will tell you the same thing--- The biggest cause of false convictions and sending innocent men and women to prison is perjury by law enforcement and prosecutorial misconduct.
Federal agents and detectives might be nice to play ping pong with, but I am here to tell you, once they testify or do an investigation, they are very dishonest. And if anyone is so naïve to think the police are your "friends" or "good guys" I feel sorry for because you are naïve and have just not navigated the system.
Just this past week there have been two cases in Texas where men have already been EXECUTED---as in die, not breathing any more; they were murdered----and the one of the prosecutors in lost his law license and will be in jail for a short time and the other prosecutor is being investigated.
Follow this link and it will take you to another forum. The info about these two prosecutor is contained in the first two threads. In fact, that entire board is loaded with instances in which there have been injustices.

Do you know what they did? They BRIBED witnesses, in one instance they bribed a jailhouse snitch to LIE to send the guy to the execution chamber and his death. They hid evidence. They had evidence they damn well KNEW proved these two guys were innocent, but they hid it and did not share it with the defense.
I don't think people who engage in this kind of behavior is deserving of our trust, nor do I think they are very "nice." I think they corroborated to murder two men by sending them to their execution.
I think, in this instance, they are sociopaths and committed cold blooded murder.
So, think long and hard about this the next time you want to complain when someone does not sing the praises of law enforcement. It makes you look foolish.
My defense attorney was a former federal prosecutor in Oklahoma City. In the beginning of the investigation, I was naive like a lot of newbies are toward detectives and federal agents. I, too, thought they were honest.
But then I noticed at a couple of the pre-trial hearings, they were just out and out lying. I was in a state of dismay so I asked my attorney if police lie. He said----and this is his exact words, "Police or cops will ALWAYS lie and perjure themselves IF they know there is no way they can be caught.
So I ask the question, "Does anyone think that people that will lie during the investigation and during the court proceedings in an attempt to circumvent justice and sent innocent men to prison are good people, "the nice guys," the "salt of the earth?"
I don't. I don't think that law enforcement deserve any respect when they do things like that.
It is not just my case that bothers me. I got over that long ago. Hell I am doing fine and not even on the registry any more.
But it is all the other cases I see across the country where there is so much police misconduct that bother me.
This police misconduct or the fact that they perjure themselves if necessary to get the DA a win is NOT an isolated case and DOES NOT only involve a FEW officers.
It is an EPIDEMIC. It is a disturbing pattern of behavior. All you have to do is read the papers and read a few of the cases going through the court system. The fact that we have a problem with out of control cops is so clear that I though everyone knew there was a BIG problem
Once a week I get an email from one of the people representing the Innocent Project, trying to get an innocent man out of prison that the police helped put there.
So yeah, I think they are generally bad individuals. No, I am not so stupid to think that they are ALL bad, as I am sure a few try to be decent.
But I have to tell you folks, if you trust the police, the probation officers, the federal police, or to a certain extent our own government, you are really naive.
I cannot even count the number of people---even on this forum---that tell me, "My mistake was trusting law enforcement. Everything----everything---I said, they turned it around 180 degrees to make me look guilty."
Is that the sign of a "good person?" I don't think so and I will never change my mind because I have seen and experienced what corrupt cops can do.
I apologize to Kim and to anyone else that I might have offended. Everyone on this forum knows I work hard and would never do anything to offend or hurt anyone. God knows, there is enough hurt on this forum to go around. But I get hot really fast when I hear someone tell me how nice law enforcement is.

PS I want it made clear that I do know the cop on the beat has a very difficult job and I respect them very much. I just think detectives and federal agents could do much better to "protect and serve" the people of this country.
I am trying to do things to make a difference. I hope everyone realizes that. I would never intentionally break the law or call for some kind of revolution as has been done on this forum a while back, as we are a nation that believes in the rule of law.
But law enforcement and the citizens of this country need to come to the table and start talking to each other.
This just cannot go on.
How I feel about LE or anyone else in authority is my business and I have a right to it.
what makes them so different? what makes them so special? why are they allowed to skate? authority, power, money and position. things and reasons that none of us have. we are just fodder for their machine. when you see and know that they go out of their way to ruin so many people and the lives connected to them and know that they are doing it to better themselves at the expense of others? you know that they are going out of their way to do this in order to "profit" and cause misery to someone else? and they do it deliberately, knowingly. they lie, twist things, hide crucial evidence sometimes knowing that the one that they are doing it to is totally innocent.
i don't think any of them practice, serve, obey, follow or defend the true letter of the law. they are all and the law they say that they uphold are riding on a teeter totter. a PD will say to a DA or prosecutor, "well i'll give up Mr Jones to you to crucify, if you will let me have Mr Smith's case". and this happens in so many, many instances. god as my witness i have over heard PD's and prosecutors discussing which cases to trade off on.
So right now it's one image and this guy has been named and shamed but does that mean he's lost his career? Well I'm sure he's on administrative leave right now and it's probably paid leave at the moment. Worst case is he "retires" before he's convicted so he gets to keep his retirement benefits. If he pleads to a lesser charge which is highly likely with only one count he may not be able to work for NCIS anymore but he'll more than likely still be able to be a cop somewhere else.
Even if the guy this thread is about is totally innocent I will always wonder how many times he resorted to "based on my training and experience"
Not directly related but a similar story:
http://tinyurl.com/l9xow7p
How many people did he put behind bars? How many lives did he ruin? How often did he lie to get a warrant? Did he do it for the "right" reasons or did he do it to cover up his own tracks and/or expand his personal collection? Am I really supposed to sympathy for him? Sorry can't do it.
