Yeah ok - just looked it up and found out a couple of things. First, I am really out of that loop because I did not know this was even going on ... Second it seems "The Shrub" (lol) did not call himself a war criminal but the issue of this is real and seems to be a global issue. In fact, the issue is so real that some are actually asking Obama to grant Bush and his cabinet international immunity from being prosecuted for this ... it seems that one leader (US President) does not have the authority to grant international immunity (that would have to come from a tribunal) it could get serious from what I can see ....

I'd like to meet the general public that thinks this is ok that the FBI allowed more images to be distributed and ask them, "If it were your picture would you still think it is ok? If it were your child's picture would you still agree to this? And who exactly do you think they are catching by doing this?"

The general public that thinks this is ok has no f-ing idea what they are talking about.

You know what I get when I tell the general public what I went through? That stupid forced sad face and forced apologies. Then they get on their stupid f-ing revenge streak, or why didn't I tell anyone.

I didn't tell anyone because it was emabarrassing. I was 4 years old being told to pose with a guys genitals in my mouth and other places for pictures.

Now the law enforcement, the people I should have told, are willingly spreading that horror around to catch people who wouldn't hurt another child.

Screw them, screw the general public and screw the law enforcement.

You are right KnowNot. If my child's photo was being used by the FBI, I would be fumming mad. I am mad at just the thought of others being affected be chase they choose to keep that site active after they took possession of it.

I am glad the site was take down, everyone agrees with that.

They "monitored" the sites my son was on for at least 2 years before raiding our home.

They found my husband a little less than a year before arresting him. They couldn't locate him.

Knownot, that is a perfect way to get the point across to people at how bad it is that the FBI seized that site and ran it distributing the images in an effort to catch folks.

Because their actions beg the questions, are they more concerned with keeping children safe and not victimized or are they more concerned in making arrests and prosecutions? Because it would appear that they are more concerned with punishment and putting people in prison than they are about protecting anyone from anything.

The FBI or any other LE agency---including the various ICACs----- are not as concerned with keeping children safe or preventing the re-victimization of the victims as they are in keeping their budgets fulfilled each year. I think this latest debacle proves that point without a doubt. After this episode someone would have to be a fool to think the FBI's first priority is the victims of child abuse.

Their main concern is arresting people to keep all those millions---billions in the case of the FBI---of dollars coming their way each fiscal year. Cannot allow the money train to dry up. If they slacked up on their arrests, the federal funds they receive each year would decrease.

When money in the form of federal grants is used as an incentive to make arrests, LE is more likely to be corrupt.

Oh, they will make a statement every once in a while about their concern for the children----"for the children", "think of the children," blah, blah---to hoodwink the public that they have the victim's best interests at heart, but their priority is arrests.

As I said, this latest operation where they kept the servers running shows their true priority-----and it is NOT the children.

Knownot, I have been thinking about your story, it is such a compelling one. Have you thought about writing an article about it or presenting it to an organization in your state like we have here in Wisconsin, Wisconsinwatch.org? I am not sure what state you are or I'd look for something similar in your state.

The more I think about it, the more it would be something that, if published, would be an excellent tool to use to feed the minds of our politicians. I am pretty sure they would be able to keep you anonymous too.

My son was lured to the government site by asking him if he had visited it yet. He went to the site and we were "blessed" with a visit from the FBI. He is now in a federal prison. Several of the other inmates were also convicted of possession of CP through this website. That the FBI would distribute child pornography is disgusting.

I agree with Wisconsin. Why not make some money telling your story? Names and places changed of course...

See I don't know about making money, although it is another thing that could be done. But a story written by a reputable journal that can be crammed down the throats of all the law makers of this country. To represent the fact that this is the kind of law enforcement you get with the kinds of zealous laws they create and perpetuate. Not because society needs it but because voters appear to favor it, even if the only reason they appear to favor it is because it is one of the few issues presented to say they are 'in favor' of. Because the main job of a politician is to get more votes to win the next election. It has little to do with what is best for the communities they represent.

Its been shown over and over again that the laws aren't helping or saving anyone. Yet, if you get the reaction of the general public they still think they are.

They go to the DOJ site and get the statistics and pervert them because they think they are helping someone.

We have an ongoing case in my county about reoffense and I laugh so hard when so many people say "They all reoffend." All? Really? So, out of how many years of the registry being in effect, ONE in this county has reoffended? Hmmm, your logic is astounding!

The thing is I know the registry would have never saved me. Now we have the FBI running a CP site to catch one person. So, I don't know how people are drawing to such ridiculous conclusions.
