this is something that i don't believe that i've seen posted or really any articles about, so if anyone could enlighten me i would appreciate it.
if when an SO gets out of jail/prison and has no one to take them in, what happens to them? do they go to a halfway house and then have to stay there? and who decides where they go, which state or city?
if unable to work and support themselves then what??
if disabled or unable to work for some reason, (physical, emotional or mental) can they collect SS? can or will they be approved for food stamps?

What is the percentage that skip HWH and are put on Home arrest? I read the federal rules and it mentions men who were elderly, retired or ill. Who makes that decision? Does it come from the sentencing judge or DOC?

I don't know the percentage of inmates who go directly to home confinement. I don't think I have ever seen an exact percentage.
