I am an advocate for sex offender rights. I know that this is not a popular issue with the general American public, but I know that most people don't look past the superficiality of the issues which is "Ohhh... how I hate sex offenders!" The problem with most people is that they don't want to invest the time to fully understand an issue. It's easier to look at the issue in a superficial way and make a judgement, but if the American voters keep that attitude, then we will be stuck with more and more laws that are not only ineffective and expensive, they are also very harmful to the people of whom the laws are directed as well as their families. Granted, there are some people out there who don't deserve to live free in society, but that's the small minority. The majority of sex offenders are first time offenders and commit relatively mild crimes like teenagers sexting each other, homeless people urinating in public and other things. My point is, a "sex offense" encompasses a wide range of criminal actions, yet the laws are all inclusive and do not distinguish between a chronically violent child rapist-murderer and two teens who happen to send each other naked pictures of themselves.

Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Then people believe what they hear, without knowing the person, or knowing the facts.
There definitely needs to be changes made. For one, the people that truly were caught doing things so horrific should be held in a different category than the ones that just got coerced by the cops and scared to death into saying they were guilty just to end the endless grilling of them.
Then there is the young guy who is over the legal age, who loves a young girl just under the legal age. Her parents get pissed at him, and turn him in as a sex offender. Ruin his life.
Then there are the women who make up the whole thing to get back at the guy for leaving them, or other reasons. Those witches need to be burned at the stake too.
Until people understand it is not just black or white, nothing will change. Until they know someone that has been railroaded and labeled because of it, nothing will change.
Until we all unite and stand up for these people, nothing will change.
I love my guy with all my heart, I have seen him with kids. He was and is NO sex offender, even his so called victim, now all grown up says so. BUT the way the laws are, if he told someone he didn't do it, and could prove it, he would have a whole new trieal, almost 20 years later. No statute on limitations on this crime, and the way the public wants to hang anyone with that accusation, he could get retried, and re convicted all over again. What the hell happened to the double jeopardy law?????
You can be anywhere and ignorant people spout off about those perverts. Yes, someone like that Sandusky guy IS, but he had money and public stature, so he is home already on bail, and will live a good life, while our innocent ones suffer forever. I HATE THIS JUSTICE SYSTEM!!! is this really America, land of the free???? LMAO
People only belive what they see on the news or in the papers its the same down hear.
The SO laws and the regstrail dose not work it wrackes a lot of peoples lives and makes it hard for them when they are about to come home (we have restications as where we can and cant live me and my man are working this all out now) where they can work and all the reast of it.
I love my man and i know he did not do what he was acused of. These spite full women need to walke in our shoes for a bit to see what its like.
The law and the justices system down hear is a joke when someone can walk into a cop shop and say stuff like that and send people to prison over it is just not right. I am gessing its the same in the US?
I do think people need more of a eduaction on the SO and the RSO and they need to relise that they do have familys who love them and care about them.
