I am an advocate for sex offender rights. I know that this is not a popular issue with the general American public, but I know that most people don't look past the superficiality of the issues which is "Ohhh... how I hate sex offenders!" The problem with most people is that they don't want to invest the time to fully understand an issue. It's easier to look at the issue in a superficial way and make a judgement, but if the American voters keep that attitude, then we will be stuck with more and more laws that are not only ineffective and expensive, they are also very harmful to the people of whom the laws are directed as well as their families. Granted, there are some people out there who don't deserve to live free in society, but that's the small minority. The majority of sex offenders are first time offenders and commit relatively mild crimes like teenagers sexting each other, homeless people urinating in public and other things. My point is, a "sex offense" encompasses a wide range of criminal actions, yet the laws are all inclusive and do not distinguish between a chronically violent child rapist-murderer and two teens who happen to send each other naked pictures of themselves.

Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? You are so right, the laws are barbaric. Instills the feeling of a witch hunt or lynching.
Not all sex offender's even did anything. Someone can ACCUSE someone of some horrifict act against a child, even if it isn't true. That woman can tear up, make the DA and judge, and jury believe and that man is sunk. Could be because if this person is convicted of this she wouldn't have to go to a custody battle court date, she could want her new husband to be the kid's father, and wanted the real dad out of her life and the child's. What better way of doing it, forever??? Never mind the fact the kid could have had a good dad and stepdad. Never mind the fact he didn't do it, but she was a vicious nasty woman with powerful rich parents.
There are many " sex offender's" labeled for life, that are not and never were sex offender's, but the stigma and all that goes with it lives with them forever.
Let's not forget in this particular case I just mentioned, the so called " victim" never testified. And later called the person, years later to try to help him re unite with his son. Her mom didn't know she did it.
Now if he had really molested her, would she ever call him and try to help him get back with her brother, the so called sex offender's son??? No, of course not.

"If you are a RSO and you are not allow access to the internet, you can have a friend or relative who has access to the internet sign on your behalf. There is an option on the petition page where your friend can have your name recorded on the petition, but not have it publicly viewable. It is a little check box on the left-hand side of the signature box that says 'Allow my signature to be seen publicly.' If you want your friend to sign your name anonymously, she or he has to uncheck that box. Your signature will still be counted in the petition count, but no one will be able to see your signature or any of your information.
I know someone that was just like everyone else til it happened to their friend, oh then they changed their tune.
In America anyone can accuse someone of this to ruin their lives because they are mad at them, and not even realize the lifelong consequences. In America its supposed to innocent til proved guilty. Not when you are charged with being a sex offender. No one will even try to exonerate them. The courts are so eager to charge them and brand them for life. It also makes sure that they get them back in prison. If they go out of town and don't have time to notify their PO or whoever, they will get violated for not notifying them of their address change. It's all just insane.

Hi everyone, I'll make this message short because you can read a lot more about me and my projects at the links I'll give. I have been a registered "sex offender" for 12 years for a teenage consensual relationship. I also have a background in video production and creative storytelling.

It's a rough story to sell to people who don't understand how truly screwed up the registry and legal systems are around this issue. I am relying on people who DO know how big a problem it is for support. We are currently almost 60% funded with a week to go, needing about $4,000 more to make the goal and get funded. Please help out if you can.

Our SO laws are getting as messed up as what yours are. A women can walke into any police station and make a statment that there ex or next door has tryed something and they can get anywaher from 10 months to 6 years!!
Its carzy we are flowing what is happing in your contry. Most people hear the word SO and forget that theres 2 sides to the story....or they go out of there way (reports newspapers) to wrack there familys its not right.
So i watch what happens in your contry and wait for it to happen hear wich in some case it dose.
Yes, the registry is by far outrageous and leaves them no chance of a live if they change, yet there are those who are SO's who will by choice, repeat and repeat and repeat.
Do we need to be warned about them? To keep our kids away from them?
Perhaps a registry is needed, for those who do repeat and have no remorse for their actions? And yes, if my son showed no remorse and was not seeking treatment I would want the world warned when he was loose.
I agree the laws need great changes, as well as what happens in the prisons once our loved ones are sentenced, but I still believe that those who truly think they have the right to hurt others need to be kept away from those who would be their victims.
I do want the laws changed, so please keep me up to date and let me know if I can help to change them though.
