Forgive me for my ignorance, but please explain why accountability is a touchy subject.
To me, it means more like I am finally coming to grips with the fact that I do, in fact, have a serious medical condition and that the illness can wreak havoc on both body and soul.
By being accountable, I am able to learn how to depend on others - individuals and in community - who will be there to encourage me to learn how to change my behaviours, to the extent that the behaviours CAN be changed PLUS to help me to understand when I am pushing myself into unrealistic expectations.
I have never been in an AA or OE group, but I know that those programs have "admitting that I have a problem" and announcing it to others who will be supportive is the first step.
Wow! Your interpretation is fascinating! I admit - it never really occurred to me, and I am sorry if it touched on Something for you.
LOL
:)
Today is our company party... No worries about over-eating at the event: I am a vegetarian and the menu is ALL meat and seafood - Nothing that would even tempt me.
What concerns me is the stress of having to endure the party, especially since I am having REAL issues with the way the employees are treated in my workplace.
I am worried that I will be tempted to binge AFTER the party because I am going to hate it and be so uncomfortable.
Thanks for reading!!!! Wish me LUCK!
Whew!
Have a good weekend Everyone!
So make this 20 hours BP free and laxative free
It's a start
I am in awe of those who have the courage to post when things aren't going as well as would be hoped....
I am one of Those People who has a really hard time admitting when I am troubled and I have an ever worse time asking for help.
That is probably how the ED started in the first place.
Pardon the bad pun, but do you thing ED "feeds" on perfectionism?
(Sorry - couldn't resist.)
I wonder how many of us are turning to food or no food as a way to achieve some sort of weird balance or denial....
Hope everyone has a calm, healthy day today. xoxoxo
Good luck, Everyone with all the Treats....
I walked into my office this morning to find that some Loving, Generous Soul had gifted me with a box of Jacques Torres slated caramels....
The garbage will enjoy them - AND won't have any "issues" about it....
UGH!
