That's great!!!!!
Thank you, Mariposa!! I will for sure join you as my b/p has been out of control lately and I feel like I could use some support and accountability.
Today is DAY 1 for me:))))
Jen
Two days Binge Free for me!
It has led me to better understand the relationship between stress-fatigue-hunger.
Do you know the acronym "H.A.L.T.?"
I somehow forgot about it, but it means "too hungry/ too angry/ too lonely/ too tired." If you absorb too much of any of these triggers, you are Looking For Trouble....
Yikes!
It's getting myself to stop and think instead of automatically reverting to my ED behaviours - I am working on it and it's improved, however, I have a long way to go!!
Has anyone read the book "Willpower" by Roy Baumeister and John Tierney? Their research shows that we only have a finite amount of self-discipline and when we push it too hard, we have an epic Fail....
I am trying to find the ways I am keeping myself all tightly wound up so that I need huge amounts of food to make me feel less tense.
Have a lovely day!!!
I'm back to day 1. Yesterday didn't go so well but I'm determined to make today good:))
"Dieters have a fixed target in mind for their maximum daily calories, and when they exceed it for some unexpected reason, ... they regard their diet as blown for the day. That day is therefore mentally classified as a failure, regardless of what else happens. Virtue cannot resume until tomorrow, so they think, 'what the hell,I might as well enjoy myself today' - and the resulting binge often puts more weight on than the original lapse."
Yup!!!!
Have a good Mondy!
I, not so much.
Back to day one.
I'm really struggling right now with BED and b/p. It's becoming a daily occurrence for me again.
This time of year (like so many others) is very emotional for me (good and bad) plus school, work, family life.......UGH!!! S-T-R-E-S-S-E-D.
I feel very discouraged right now but am DETERMINED to keep trying!!!
I think the over-consumption is pretty much unavoidable this season. But what's up with the purge reaction? When I used to do that, it was like I was completely hysterical - like a squirrel burying a nut or something animal-like. I think this behavior is really deeply buried inside us - but who has the time to deal with it carefully....
:(
Sending hugs!
It pisses me off because I wonder how much more I could have accomplished thus far in my life had I not wasted so much time, mental energy and worry over food and how fat my ass looks. Looking back on it now, it seems like a complete sad waste of resources.
