Not to be rude or start a fight, but why post something that could be triggering?
The thing is we are not all the same. You Guys know TONS about ED, Anorexia, Bulimia... restricting... others do not...
if you know it will trigger you, or there is a warning you can not come in this thread.
but for me, the more I learn the better for me... addiction is a weird thing... hard to understand...
I understand if you disagree with the show and its purpose, or its reasonable value. I still find it helpful even if its just showing ppl how they enable others... or how sick you can become...
yes its reality drama...
It's not even good information for outsiders who doesn't know about eating disorders. Because her parents don't even understand it and it makes it all look like this eating disorder is just a way to get attention. That it's something that is chosen.
You could ask "Why was she on the show, then?" She wanted to do a documentary to educate others on how daily life is affected by eating disorders- not about the "drama" of purging or exercising or weight or restricting, etc. That is what the show ended up focussing on. She also did the documentary in the hopes of free treatment, as she couldn't afford it otherwise.
I just watched the episode Missy posted. The smile on that girls face at the end was heat warming... i got all emotional... to see her so miserable, and struggling so bad (editing or not) then to see her smile and liking herself so much more, is encouraging to me...
Im alot like her. Ppl have told me how my recovery has given then inspiration and hope.... I choose to feel its all about hope...
I dont even think this is trigering
But hey, again, I'm only adding this because I know the journey of three girls who were on Intervention, and what happened AFTER the show ended.
I am working hard on my recovery. its been 3 years of work, but the last 4 months have been the key... therapy, meds, reaching out and getting support... all helped me.
I am feeling so much stronger... there is hope for ppl ! Keep fighting everyone
