Do you think that your opinion could be affected by the ED trying to defend watching a programme that is triggering or "encouraging"?
Intheblues... 1st, no i didnt know you were an alcoholic. 2nd, you have never heard of an alcoholic dying before? Sorry to have ruined your day, i wish you well.
Thanks for sharing. Crazy to see how much it affects the family...wow.
I wish nothing but for us all to find health and happiness. And it just saddens me to see potentially harmful posts like this on the boards. Sending my warmest thoughts and wishes to you all
Jes
I watched it just bc of all the fighting going on about it. It didnt trigger me at all. It broke my heart and made me want to get over my ED that much more.
People are different and respond differently to things. Her posting this will help some of us ....
of course I know you can die from an eating disorder thats why I am in recovery and have gotten help. You dont really know the nature of my ED tho bc you have researched me either...
very strange
Nr 2 (which will probably get me killed on here): the girl wasn't skin and bones and didn't look like she was dying. I know that's a horrible thing to say and I know that ED comes in all sizes, but I'm just saying for me the girl didn't look ill enough to trigger me.
Now help me God with everyone's reactions to my comment.
but I just watched a minute or so and it seemed very...overdone. Everyone is different, sure, but I have to wonder what's going on when someone parades herself around in her underwear on television. Maybe I didn't see enough of it to tell...but she seemed pretty comfortable with herself. I don't want to minimize the severity of her struggles. I do, however, have to agree with those who have said the episode is a poor portrayal of EDs.
